POV magnus
We walk into Honors Chem, our teacher looks very nice, but she doesn’t look like a “Mr. Lucien” either. The bell ring as we sit down. “Hello students! Welcome to Honors Chem, now as you can tell i am not Mr. lucien”
“Mr. lucien could not pull off that hair”
“My name is Tessa Herondale and i am the new chem teacher, my husband teaches PE along with Mr. Carstairs. I hope we can have a happy semester together? Now everyone take your seats.”
Everyone goes to their assigned seats that Mrs. Herondale had projected on the board. Sadly i’m not next to Alexander, but we are in the same lab groups, so ill survive.
About half way through a period full of worksheets mrs. herondale gets a phone call. When she finishes she called me up to her desk. “You need to go up to the office” she says “your mother's here to get you”
“What?” my breathing gets heavy and my vision starts to blur. I glance at alexander, who is looking right at me with concern. “Can Alec walk me up?”
“Sure.” she says, then calls alec over. “Alec can you walk magnus to the office? His mother is here to get him.” alec looks at me as if telling me that it’s all gonna be okay… but it’s not.
As we enter the office, i hear ralphie gasp. Alec looks over at him and waves. Ralphie walks over and whispers “you need to leave”
“Why?” alec questions
“Because moms already mad and you being here, is just gonna make it worse”
“Why?” alecs grips harder on me.
“No ralphie, alecs staying.” i tell him i can’t keep my balance
“But mom will-”
“I Will what?” silence comes over the room as she enters “Ralphiel go sit down”
“Yes mother” he bows his head and goes to sit
She stares at me, then turns to alec, then looks around us as if reminding herself that we are in a school, a public place. “Come on we are leaving.”
“No.”
“What was that?”
“I said no mother.” i squeeze alecs hand for strength. “Im staying”
“And what live on the street just for some school?” she looks at our hands and scoofs “for some boy? No, not again my son. You are coming home right now.”
She drags me outside the door near the car
“I said NO!”
She goes to slap me. Alec blocks the swing.
She’s fuming now “fine leave, leave us on our own.” she grabs ralphie’s arm and walks to the car.
I want to fall onto the floor. I want to cry. I want to scream. I want to run to my mom and take it all back. I want to ran as far as i can as fast as i can from this spot, from this feeling. But i don’t do any of this i just.. Stand, staring as she pushes my little brother into the car and drives away, never to be seen again.
I should be happy. She can’t hurt me anymore. Then why.. Why do i feel so sad.
