I walked along the beach and stared out over the horizon. I grabbed my phone and checked the time. 11:11. "Make a wish." I thought to myself. I'd always thought it was stupid to do that, but I figured it was worth a shot. "I wish for a boyfriend." I jokingly muttered to myself. I kept walking until a volleyball rolled in front of my feet. Who plays volleyball at 11 o'clock at night? I picked it up just as someone came running towards me. "Sorry." He said and I handed him his ball. "Quite alright." I said. It wasn't until then did I hear a loud boom of thunder and a crackle of lightning over the ocean. Then, the downpour started. "I guess this is the part when we start running?" He said and laughed. I nodded. "I think so." I said and we both took off running towards the parking lot of the beachfront hotel. We waited till traffic cleared and ran across the street and down the sidewalk, barely dodging bikers in our path. We finally stopped near the registration building across from my condo. "Where are you staying?" I asked. "Right over there." He pointed to the building I was staying at. "Me too." I smiled. We ran up the stairs to the second floor and that was when I caught a glimpse of his face. Kian Lawley. I knew I'd recognized his voice. "I uh I didn't catch your name." He said. "Madison." I said. "I'm Ki-" "I know. Not to be creepy but I'm a fan is all. Not a stalker one but just one who really adores you." I said. He nodded. "Well maybe tomorrow you and your family could join me down at the beach tomorrow. I'd love to see you again." He said. I nodded. "I'd really like th-" I was cut off by my brother Jai. "There you are! Mom and Dad have been going insane thinking you'd been kidnapped!" He yelled. I sighed. "I'll see you tomorrow Kian." "See you then." He smiled and winked. I followed Jai in the condo. "Who was that guy?" Jai asked. "Just a friend." I said. "Seemed like more than a friend to me." He said. "Oh you don't know shit Jai." "What've mom and dad said about swearing?" Jai asked, obviously knowing I hated that question. "Just back off of Kian." "No. Knowing him he probably molested you or something." He said. "That's the thing! You don't know Kian!" "And neither do you!" "I actually do! He's famous!" "Oh here we go again. Just because he's famous doesn't mean you know him Madison." Jai said. "So? What about Stacy huh? Or should I say Slutty? She's been sleeping with every guy she's seen since seventh grade, but yet you still believe her lies." I said. "Leave Slutty I mean Stacy out of this!" He said. "Then you leave Kian alone." "I know I shouldn't listen to you and give up this easily but fine. When you find out the truth about him, don't come crying to me." He said and ran up, slamming his bedroom door.
