Three's a Crowd

I woke up a few weeks later, my stomach feeling absolutely terrible. Kian had an interview that morning, so he wasn't home. I felt my stomach churn and ran to the bathroom. I began to throw up and knew something wasn't right. I'd missed my period last week and now, here I am, puking in the bathroom toilet. I knew there was only one answer to this and I feared nothing more than Kian's response.

To be completely sure, I quickly dressed and went to the drugstore. I grabbed multiple brands of tests and paid for them. I went home and took one of each. I waited nervously against the wall for ten minutes. Once the time was up, I checked all of them. Yes. Positive. Pregnant. Every single test said I was pregnant. I couldn't believe it.

What would Kian say? Would he be angry? Upset? Happy? Would he want an abortion? Would he love the baby? Would he break off the engagement? Would he leave me alone with a baby? Every question swarmed my mind until the sound of Kian's voice brought me out of my trance.

"Baby! I'm home!" I jumped out of my thoughts and quickly hid all the tests. I couldn't tell him yet and there was no way it'd be tonight either. He had so much going on, it'd only stress him out ten times more.

I finished hiding the tests and ran out of the bathroom. I walked downstairs and gave Kian a kiss on the cheek. "How was the interview?" "Good." He said, grabbing a Budweiser from the fridge. "That's good." He nodded and walked over towards me. "How was everything here?" I thought about saying, 'It was terrific. Oh and by the way, congratulations you're gonna be a father!', but let's face it, I couldn't say that. "It was good." I lied and grabbed a pack of goldfish from the counter. He nodded and smiled, then pressed a kiss to my forehead. Fathers' Day was coming up in about two and a half weeks. That would buy me some time to figure out the perfect way to tell him.

It was a movie night tonight. Definitely one of the most enjoyable nights of the week by far. Kian chose two movies and I chose two. Popcorn, candy, soda, pizza and much more cluttered the couch, floor, and coffee table. Kian and I snuggled up in our matching onesies and began the movie marathon. Kian had chosen the movies Friday and The Conjuring, whereas I had chosen Mean Girls and The Chosen. Kian starred in The Chosen so of course it was one of my all time favorite movies.

We sat on the couch and Kian hit play on The Conjuring. I ate a solid portion of the rather large bowl of popcorn that sat inbetween us on the couch. I hadn't had much of an appetite the entire day, partially it was the baby preventing my hunger, but most of it was the fact of how hard it was to stomach that I had a living and breathing thing inside me and the person who was responsible for it, didn't even know.

My hunger had finally returned however, and even I was surprised as to how much food I had actually managed to consume. I got up to make us more popcorn and I could tell Kian sensed something was wrong. "Hey babe." I gulped. He wasn't onto me was he? "Yeah?" I asked, trying to stomach my nerves. "If I sound rude here, know I am in no way trying to, but you've eaten a lot more tonight than you have on any other movie night. And you didn't eat almost anything at all today. You've got me worried baby, you really really do. Is there anything wrong that you haven't told me?" Well in all seriousness, there's a major thing I haven't told Kian, but I had a plan and I wasn't telling him just yet. I shook my head. "Just didn't feel very hungry today is all." What a lie that was. He'd know in a few weeks anyway, he can wait that long. I hope.
