I woke up and brushed my hair and teeth and put on a bikini. I smiled at myself in mirror and applied some lip balm. I jogged downstairs to see Mom, Dad, and Jai waiting on me. I smiled and grabbed my phone as there was a knock on the door. I opened it to see a shirtless Kian. I blushed red as I eyed him. He noticed me staring and cleared his throat. "Ready?" He asked. I jumped up and nodded. "Yeah.. uh sorry about that." "It's fine. I'm just ready to go." I smiled as he said it and grabbed my bag and walked out onto the awning. He grabbed my hand and we jogged down the stairs. We waited for my parents at the bottom. I noticed Jai eyeing us as we waited for them. I ignored him and tried to focus on Kian. "So what're you doing here in South Carolina?" I asked. "Had to get away from Cali for a bit." He said. My parents then made it down and.we walked down the sidewalk. "Where you headed after the beach?" I asked. "Probably towards the upstate. Might as well explore while I've got the chance." He said. I nodded. "That's where we live." I smiled. "Really? Maybe you could show me around." He said. I nodded. "I'd love to. When do you leave here?" I asked. "Saturday." He said. "Oddly enough, us too." I said. He chuckled. "Talk about fate." He said. "Guess so." I smiled. "Oh and I uh, I didn't get your number. Mind if I have it?" He asked. I nodded and told him it, as he put it in his phone and sent a text. I heard my phone ding and smiled. "Thanks. Figured it might come in handy having that in my phone." He said. I smiled. "I'm pretty sure I never imagined this ever happening to me." I said. "I guess not many people would." He said. I smiled as we crossed the street and headed towards the beach. "Madison, can I tell you something?" He asked and squeezed my hand. "Sure. Anything." I said as we kept walking. "You really have made my trip so much better. I know we've only know each other for like sixteen hours, but I was really skeptical about all this. I now know this was a good idea." He said. I smiled. "Awe Kian." I said. "I know it's sappy and shit and not like me at all, but at least it's true." He said. He was right. It wasn't like him. "I know we've got an age gap and shit, but at the moment, that doesn't matter to me. I see something never before noticeable in a girl. I guess I always thought I'd end up with a fellow celebrity. You? You're not what I knew ever existed. And even though we barely know each other, I already know I never want you out of my sight." I looked at him. I don't know how the look came off to him, but he looked sad. "Should've known I'm just a try hard." I heard him mutter. "Kian. Don't say that. I just wasn't expecting you to say that. I figured that having you was only a pigment in my wildest dreams. Not something that had a chance at becoming reality." I said. "Will you go out with me? Like, you know, a date?" He asked, clearly cautious about asking the question. "I'd love to. Just can't let my parents know. They'd kill me if they found out." I said. He nodded. "Secret relationships are honestly the best kind. They give the feeling of danger and the adrenaline is insane." He smiled. I giggled. "Then I guess we're a thing." I said. He nodded. "What about you and Franny?" I asked. "Franny? Oh she's nothing. Just a friend that I live with. Nothing more." He said. I hoped he was telling the truth. I didn't want a cheating boyfriend. Those were the worst. I trusted him, though I knew I could be tettering on the edge of a bad decision. I could only hope I was making the right one.
