Bridget's POV
Sam has been talking to me all week and has been trying to convince me to go to his game tonight but I am just not budging. Everybody in the school keeps talking about me and staring at me too.
I walked into Science class and sat at my normal desk. Two girls walked in Erin and Victoria. They are of course in the popular group. Erin and Sam had a thing over the summer I herd but it didn't work out.
"I just don't get it why is he talking to some girl like her. She is annoying and doesn't know how to dress herself." Erin said to Victoria snickering. I could hear them because they sat directly behind me. I am not gonna take shit from anybody so I turned around and looked at them.
"Maybe he is talking to me because he actually wants to talk to a girl who has an i.q. higher than a seven." I said smirking and turning back around. I herd Sam's friends Mack and Jack Gilinsky laugh at my remark. I mean she can fight fire with fire but she is going to get burned.
My Calc teacher isn't here today so I asked the sub if I could go get a drink fro the vending machine. I alked down the hall to the closest machine and put my money in. I love the light blue gatorade and I put the right code in and waited but of course it got stuck. I tried banging on it but I wasn't strong enough.
"Need some help?" a voice said from behind me. I looked up to see it was Sam. He knocked three times on the machine and hit it with his elbow and it came out.
"The secret is you have to knock three times." he said smirking. I actually gave him a real smile back.
"Thanks." I said trying to reach for the drink but he held it up so I couldn't reach it.
"Not so fast. You can get the drink if you come to my game tonight." he said smirking
"Sam come on I have to get back to class." I said trying to grab the drink but he held it up higher
"Now that you are arguing you have to dinner with me afterwards." he said smirking even bigger
"Fine I will go to your stupid game and dinner with you. Can I have my drink now?" I asked grabbing it out of his hands
"See you tonight!" he called after me
"I can't believe we are seriously on our way to his basketball game right now." I said to my friends. I was wearing jeans, red vans, and a long sleeve black Westide basketball shirt. I had on my normal amount of makeup and my hair was straight and pulled half up half down.
"I can't believe Sam Wilkinson wants you to be here tonight." Jenny said squealing as we pulled into the parking lot
"You guys have issues." I said getting out of the car and walking inside. It was pretty crowded but we got seats in the middle of the student section.
"Hey I am Sam's friend Luke and this is Josh. Sam told us that you can sit with us." he said smiling
"Thanks. I'm Bridget and these are my friends Angela and Jenny." I said introducing them. We made small talk and they actually weren't too bad to talk to. The game started and it was a good one. It was the fourth quarter with two seconds left. The game was tied and Sam was fouled and he went up to the foul line. He made both of his foul shots and we won the game. We are stil undefeated. Everybody rushed out to the court to congratulate him.
The whole team went back in the locker room and came out dressed in normal clothes. Sam was talking with his friends but then he saw me and smiled. He walked over to me.
"Hey did you enoy the game?" he asked smiling
"Yeah good job." I replied
"Thanks so Josh is having the after party. You guys are invited but I have one request." he said smirking
"And what is that?" I asked rolling my eyes
"That Bridget rides with me."
"That is fine with us. See you there." Jenny said walking off with Angela.
I followed Sam out to his car. He drives a nice Traverse. He opened up the passenger door for me and I thanked him. He hopped in and began driving.
"Look I know I promsied you dinner but I really need to go to this party. The whole team is going to be there." he said looking over at me
"It's fine I ate before we came anyways." I said shrugging my shoulders
"So you should come to more of my games told you you are my good luck charm." he said winking at me
"Maybe. Or maybe you just had two lucky shots." I said smirking
"Oh you did not just say that." he said laughing causing me to laugh too.
"Why are you staring at me? Do I have something on my face?" I asked confused
"No you are just so beautiful." he murmured. I tried to hide my blush as we pulled up to Josh's house. Sam hopped out and opened the door up for me. We walked through the front door and everybody was greeting Sam with cheers and high fives. He got us both drinks and some food.
"So I will be right back ok?" he said. I nodded my head and watched him walk off.
"You guys seem cozy." Angela said coming up next to me
"He called me beautifl in the car." I said rolling my eyes
"Oh my gosh that is great!" Jenny said hitting my arm
"Guys he calls all girls that. It's nothing." I said shrugging my shoulders
"But you arn't like those other girls." Angela pointed out. About an hour went by and we had mingled with some people we knew from class and Josh and Luke. Sam still hasn't returned yet. I looked up to see him dancing like an idiot and yelling
"We winning baby we winning!" he was definitly high and drunk
"Told you guys this was a mistake." I said pointing over towards him and walking out the door
I knew this was too good to be true.
