Bridget's POV

Sam and I have been getting really close these past two weeks. He has met my dad and I have even met his parents. I don't know what we are honestly. Plus we havn't even kissed yet. All the girls in school keep talking about me but I just shrug them off.

"So you have to go to your Mom's house for dinner tonight right?" Tess asked me. We are all at lunch now.

"Yupp it is monday." I said rolling my eyes

"Come on it isn't that bad. I went with you to dinner the one time." Jenny said

"Todd was on his best behavior because you were there. He doesn't care when I am there. I don't know why my mom loves him. He is such an asshole." I said taking a sip of my juice

"Just leave early if it gets bad." Angela suggested

"So Sam asked if I would come to his game tomorrow night do you guys want to come too?" I asked them changing the subject

"Duh! Is that even a question?" Jenny asked laughing

"So what is the deal with you guys? Are you dating or just a thing?" Tess asked wiggling her eyebrows

"Honestly I don't know right now I guess just a thing."

"Well you guys should be more because he totally likes you a lot." Angela said putting emphisis on a lot

"It's weird he can annoy me and make me so mad sometimes but then all he has to do is smile or make me smiled and we are ok again." I said smiling to myself

"Oh girl you got it bad. You really like him." Jenny said as the bell rang

"Who would of though stone cold Bridget would be smitten with a boy?" Tess said mocking me

"See you guys later." I said shaking my head

It was finally the end of the day and I felt arms snake around my waist.

"Hey Bridge." Sam said turning me around so that I am facing him

"Hey how are you?" I asked smiling

"I'm good. So you know how the fair is coming to town this weekend?" he asked I nodded my head yes

"Well all of my friends are going and I was wondering if you and your friends would like to come along?" he asked leaning against the lockers

"Yeah sure that sounds like fun! I will ask them thanks." I said finsihing packing up my bookbag

"You got practice?" I asked him

"Yeah you going over to your mom's house?"

"Yeah. Text me later though ok?" I asked him. He smiled and pulled me in for a hug.

"Sure thing. Bye Bridget." he said kissing my cheek before walking away. I turned around and was praying nobody could see my blush.

I got to my mom's house around 5:00. I rang the doorbell and she answered me pulled me in for a big hug. I don't get to see my mom that often and I do miss her. My sister and I look exactly like her.

"Bridget sweetie how are you?" she asked taking my purse from me and putting it on the counter

"Good how have you been?" I asked following her into the kitchen

"I've been ok. School has just been stressing me out a little bit but I'm fine don't worry." she said checking something in the oven

"What are you cooking? It smells delicious."

"I am cooking your favorite Parmasian Chicken and pasta with alfredo sauce." she said smiling

"Wait a minute you normally cook my favorite foods when you have to tell me something. What do you have to tell me?" I asked sighing

"Well your uncle is coming to town." she said smiling gently

"Uncle Mark? For how long?"

"A week. He says he misses us. Half the week he will be staying here and the other half he will be staying with you and your father." she explained. I love my Uncle Mark don't get me wrong but sometimes he can get a little crazy and be really overprotective of the whole family.

The door opened and in came Todd. He walked over and pecked my mom on the lips and gave me an awkward hug.

"Hey kiddo how have you been?" he asked putting his stuff down. He always calls me weird names too. He is so annoying.

"Fine how about you?"

"I'm doing ok thanks. I am going to go get changed." he said running up the steps

"Bridget Marie be nice." my mom warned me

"That was me being nice. You know it is hard to be nice to the person that ruined your family." I said bringing all the dishes over to the table

"Bridget when is this going to get-" but I cut her off

"Just drop it Mom it doesn't matter." I said sitting down at the table. Todd came down in sweats and we all began to eat.

"So how is school? Grades are good?" Todd asked me

"Yes and yes." I replied smiling

"Good. You know I'm surprised you get good grades. I know how hard your classes are." he said smiling. He seriously doesn't have a filter

"Any boys?" my mom asked smirking

"Actually there is one. His name is Sam Wilkinson." I said blushing and smiling

"Oh I know exactly who his parents are! Really nice family. Are you guys dating?"

"Well we went out on our frist date two weeks ago and then have been going on some ever since. Today he invited me and my friends along with he and his friends to go to the fair this weekend." I explained

"Thats fun. He plays basketball right?" my mom asked

"Yeah he starts. He is really good." I said

"Well I am going to have to meet this boy to approve of him." Todd said chuckling to himself. This really pissed me off.

"Why? It's not like you are my dad or anything." I said staring at him

"Bridget!" my mom said giving me the look

"No it's ok Beth." Todd said patting her hand

"I am not going to keep pretending that Todd is my dad because he isn't. You guys act like Dad is dead he isn't so he can't make remarks like that!" I yelled

"Ok Bridget you made your point that is enough now." my mom said glaring at me.

Some family dinner this turned out to be I thought to myself

Sam's POV

I was with my friend Rob right now just chilling at his house.

"So what is the deal with you and this Bridget girl?" he asked

"I really like her dude. I am going to ask her out this weekend at the fair." I explained smiling

"I have never seen you so hooked on a girl before." he said smirking

"She is just different. A good different. I can actually have a conversation with her." I said laughing

"Well Sammy boy you are maturing my friend. But if I can give you one piece of advice please don't screw it up if you really like her. You are vulnerable and you tend to act on impulse. Don't make any dumbass descions." he said looking at me

"I know I won't. Thanks man."
