Take and Give
All I want to say today is hang on. Just hang on. Not necessarily because you’re standing on the edge or you’re in the middle of breaking or you’re in some dark very place. But rather, because everyone needs to be reminded how the see-saw in our life works. We all know it’s there, but when we’re on the ride, we forget that there is a yin to every yang, a good for every bad, a dawn for every night. Sometimes we get so caught up in the great race, trying to be everything for everyone that, we start to feel all this world does is take. Take from us, take and use and hurt and rarely, give us strength back in place of all the holes. But that’s not true. And I think if there’s one thing I’ve learned about the see-saw, it’s that it only feels like you spend more time on the taking side. It only feels like those chapters are the longest and those trials are the hardest. Maybe it’s because we focus so much on surviving in them. On coming out in-tact. Maybe it’s because it’s human nature to focus more on what’s wrong because we expect that things stay right. But darling, it is a balance. And maybe sometimes it will be slightly off. Hell, maybe sometimes it will be completely and totally off. But it will be right again. You’re going to have the people that tiptoe into your life while tears are streaming down your face and your heart is in pieces. And they are going to walk around and pick all those pieces up and one at a time, help you sew them back together. And then you’re going to understand. How the great balance works. Some people take a little of us with them. But others come around and hand it back. ♥
