Hanging on a cliff

I'm hanging on this cliff,
I've two choices in my hand,
I can pull myself up,
Or I can jump into the quagmire sand.

I tried hard to save myself,
To rescue me from the thorns down there,
My hands were slipping,
I was losing control but did you really care?

In this selfish world, I knew I'm the only one who can save me from falling apart,
I cried, I screamed, I tried, I was tired,
I tried to go up, I didn't want to see their shattering heart.

I closed my eyes, wanting the eyes remain closed forever,
But their smiling faces flashed before my eyes,
A tear drop slipped down my right cheek,
I have to do this, not for me but for them, so I rise.

I rise up, saving myself from this emotional mess,
Pulling myself away from the vanquished memories,
Here I rise myself to stand mighty and tall,
Strong girls like me write inspiring stories.

A/N : 'Them' here represents parents. I hope you like this writing. I wrote this one day and I thought this was stupid and I won't post it, but I did anyways.

QOTD : What's your favourite animal? I like dogs, hamsters, snakes (my friends thought I was crazy) and squirrels. I like animals in general though.

Hope you all have a great day. Stay blessed.
