60th Anniversary.

I woke up to my alarm beeping I rolled over and shut it off before rubbing my eyes.  I sat up and stretched, and then I got up and walked downstairs. The living room was full of girls getting ready Hef had hired a lot of hair and make-up artists to get all 60 of us ready.

I walked over and sat in the chair with my name on it. Sarah my personal hair stylist walked over “Good morning Aaliyah how are you?” She asked “I’m alright and you.” I asked “I’m good just really busy.” She said smiling.

“Yeah I bet getting 60 girls ready can’t be easy.” I said with a smile “Yeah it’s tough at least I’m not doing it all alone.” She said. I smiled at her

She began curling my hair as someone else came over and started my makeup. We kept it pretty simple on the makeup just light tones. It took her an hour and 15 minutes to finish my hair. “Alright darling you’re all finished. Just go over there to Antonio he will help you get in your bunny suit.” She said “Alright thanks Sarah.” I said “No problem sweetie.” She replied

I walked over to Antonio “Ahh Aaliyah I’ve been waiting to see your beautiful face.” He said hugging me before kissing my cheeks. “It’s so great to see you it’s been forever.” I said “I know darling I’ve been keeping up with you though you’ve been in quite a few tabloids the past few months.” He said

“I try to ignore them.” I said smirking “Well I see your pretty good friends with Justin Bieber.” He said winking at me “Yeah we became pretty close for a while.” I said “Oooh any sparks of love?” He questioned studying my facial expressions “I don't know we’ll see.” I said smiling

“Oh Aaliyah you’re so innocent I can’t look at him without undressing him with my eyes.” He said “Antonio stop it.” I said laughing and smacking his arm “Oh sorry, but it’s true.” He said “Well let’s get you dressed darling.” He added as he searched through the bunny suits until he found mine. He pulled out the yellow suit “Alright let’s get you changed.”He said

I took off my clothes and he helped me get the suit on. He pulled it up and made sure everything was tucked in. “You look fabulous!” he said placing the bunny ears on my head. “Thanks!” I said

“Girls we are leaving in 20 minutes.”Hef yelled I decided to take this opportunity to call Justin. I walked upstairs and called him. He didn’t answer I decided to leave a message.

Aaliyah- Hey Justin it’s me we really need to talk. I’m sorry about everything. I miss you.

I hung up and sat down on the edge of my bed holding back my tears so I wouldn’t mess up my makeup. Then my phone vibrated. I looked at the screen it was a number I didn’t have, I answered it anyway. “Hello?” I answered “Aaliyah?” The voice said “Umm yes who is this?” I asked

“It’s Ryan…Butler” He said “Oh hello.” I said “I’m with Justin and I saw he ignored your call. He is just really upset right now he is doing alright he is trying to be happy. But we are going to Colorado this weekend to go snowboarding so I wanted you to know I’m going to talk to him. I know you two love each other he is just doing crazy things to deal with his stress.” Ryan said

 “I heard…Ryan I just want him to be okay. I was upset by his attitude at the premier.”I said “I know I didn’t like it either but you know he is a good person he is just under a lot of pressure right now.” He said “I know I’ve been thinking about that but he can’t treat us bad just because he is under pressure.” I said “You’re right Aaliyah but he needs us to be by his side.” He said “Yeah you’re right. I just want to talk to him Ryan.” I said

“Ryan what are you doing?” I heard Justin yell “I’m on the phone.” Ryan yelled back. Then I heard his voice even closer “Come on man lets go ride skateboards.”Justin said “Hey I have to go.” Ryan said to me “Okay thanks Ryan just make sure he knows I love him and I’m sorry make him listen to my voicemail.” I said “Alright goodbye.” He said “Bye.” I said hanging up.

“Aaliyah let’s go.” Hef yelled “Coming.” I yelled downstairs. I grabbed my phone and some lip gloss and put them in a small clutch. I ran downstairs and out to the bus to meet the girls.

We drove around town the streets were full of people waving and taking pictures of us. They played music on the bus so we all danced and sang along. Kendall came over and sat beside me “Hey are you alright?” She asked “Yeah fine.” I replied “Have you talked to him yet?” She asked

 “No I did talk to Ryan though so I feel a little better.” I said “Oh good… Why don’t you just forget about it for the day just have fun and enjoy this.” She said motioning to all the girls having fun. “You know what you’re right!” I said

I stood up and walked to the front of the bus grabbing the microphone “I am so happy to be a part of a brand that inspires people. Some people look at this industry as a disgrace to women but it takes a special person to see it as an art form which is exactly what Hef saw more than 60 years ago.” I looked at Hef who was sitting in the front row “Hef I don’t know where I’d be without you. I’m so glad you were brought into my life and opened so many opportunities for me I love you!” I said “I love you too baby.” He said

I walked over and hugged him “That was a great speech I’m glad you’re feeling better.” He said I smiled at him and then sat back down with Kendall.

The day has been going pretty fast we’ve been driving all afternoon we stopped for a while and took pictures with fans and ate lunch. We drove around for another hour and a half then Hef made an announcement.

 “It’s been an amazing day I couldn’t be more blessed and to get to enjoy this day with 60 of the most beautiful women in LA is even more than I could have ever imagined. This year is going to be so big for Playboy and I can’t wait for you all to see what we have in store.” He said

We pulled up to the mansion and the girls who didn’t live here left and the rest of us went inside. I said goodnight to the girls and Hef and went up to my room.

I changed out of the bunny suit and grabbed my phone out of the clutch purse before throwing it into the chair.

I had a missed call and a voicemail. I called my voicemail and listened to the call “Hey Aaliyah this is Cailin I got your number from Justin. So I’m going to be in LA in a couple weeks I’m signing a contract with a modeling agency out there I thought maybe we could have lunch. Well call me back and we’ll set something up …okay bye.”

I hung up the phone and decided I’d call her back tomorrow, I lay down in bed and I stare at the ceiling just letting my mind wander.
