The next day my classes started. Storm said I had almost all the same classes with both Derek and Danny. A few classes were specified for me because of my powers. My first class was history. "This place really is just like a regular school," I thought "only, with mutants." It turns out Storm taught the history class.
"Good morning everyone," Storm said. "I have an announcement. We have a new student. Will you come up please Honey?" I went up and stood by Storm. "Now, will you please tell everyone your name and what your power is?"
I replied, "Okay. Hi, I'm Lily Jenkins and I'm a telepath and have telekinesis."
They gave a synchronized "Hi Lily" back to me.
I went back to my seat and waited for class to end. I didn't have first period with Danny or Derek. During second period I had chemistry class. The teacher, Mr. McCoy, was large, had glasses, wore a very nice suit, very hairy, and his entire body was blue. Then a girl with short, dark hair and bright green eyes came bustling in. She rambled and rambled to Mr. McCoy about why she was late. Then he pointed to the empty seat next to me and told her to sit down.
A few minutes after Mr. McCoy passed out an assignment I heard faint singing. I turned my head to look at the girl to see it was her singing. She was really good too! The song sounded familiar, so I tapped her shoulder and asked, "Hey. What song is that?"
She looked up and said, "Oh, sorry." She laughed and replied, "It's Let it Go. You know, from that awesome movie Frozen?"
I smiled and replied, "Ya I love that movie, it's awesome. I know like every song!"
She giggled, smiled back and said, "I know isn't it? I just love everything Disney!" She giggled and smiled at me again. She stuck her hand out to me and said, "Hi, my name's Hope, what's yours?"
I smiled again, shook her hand, and replied, "I'm Lily."
"Okay, so what's your power Lily?"
I gave a shy smile "I'm a telepath and I have telekinesis."
"Wow seriously?"
"Ya. What's yours?
She laughed and gave a sly grin, "Watch this." She leaned over, put her hand on the desk and frost started crawling down the desk to the floor towards the desk in front of us where the boy sitting there was leaning back in his chair on only two legs. Ice started climbing from the floor to the legs that were off the floor. They eventually reached the legs but kept rising until the boy fell backward and all the ice melted.
We both almost died with laughter. The boy jumped up and was engulfed in flames and shouted, "Hope!? What's the big idea?!"
Hope kept laughing, "I don't know what you're talking about!"
We could've laughed for another good half hour if Mr. McCoy hadn't stepped in, "Excuse me," he said with a stern look. Then our laughing stopped. "What is going on here? Finn, simmer down this instant!" Then the boy, Finn, literally simmered down and wasn't on fire anymore. "Hope, I know Finn is supposed to sit on all four legs of the chair but please. Next time, just tell him or tell me."
Hope's head fell, "Yes Mr. McCoy."
"And you, Miss Lily I presume?"
I replied, "Yes sir."
"It's your first day, please refrain from causing any trouble."
I hung my head almost identically to the way Hope did. "Yes sir."
After class was over, Hope and I left the room in a fit of giggles. I had a feeling her and I were gonna be good friends!
