We boarded the jet, buckled up, and were up in the air within minutes. Since coming to the school a month ago, I had grown more comfortable with heights. Most of that was because of Derek, though, and the fact I taught myself to fly.
I felt a warm hand on mine. "You good," Derek asked.
I smiled at him and squeezed his hand. "Yeah," I said.
We were headed to a wooded area up north where Storm said Victor was hiding. It was about an hour away, even by jet.
Soon, we were told we were getting close. The Professor was right about it being heavily guarded. Every inch was being watched by cameras and there had to be at least forty heavily armed guards around the small building. I figured the rest was underground.
It was a dark, cloudy night so it was easy for us to stay hidden. We hovered above the roof and I watched as Jean and the Professor powered down the cameras.
Hope spoke to Jean. "Won't they know something's up if the cameras suddenly turn off?"
"No," Jean replied. "We didn't turn them off, we're turning off the microphones and filtering false images so they don't see anything that's really happening."
Hope nodded and Danny turned to me. "You ready," he asked.
I looked back at Derek and Logan who both nodded and turned to Danny and replied, "Ready."
Scott, Bobby, Rogue, Kitty, and Finn took ahold of Kurt while Logan, Hope, Derek, and I held on to Danny. We all teleported to the roof. Storm, Jean, and the Professor stayed on the jet to keep it running and fight from outside the building.
The eight guards that were on the roof looked at us in surprise and lifted their guns at us. Before they could fire, I grabbed them all from there hands and threw them into the air while Derek threw fireballs at them.
One guy ran up and tackled me from behind. When we hit the ground I hit him hard in the stomach and wrenched my arm free. I punched him in the eye and heard him shout in frustration and pain. I grabbed his arm and flipped him over. I pinned him to the ground, grabbed his other arm, and held them both behind his back.
"Where is he," I demanded. "Where's Victor?!"
He laughed at me and smirked, "Like I'd tell you, you little brat."
I grunted in frustration, got up and quickly kicked him and knocked him unconscious with a hard hit to the face.
The others had finished off the rest of the guards as I looked up from the guard I'd knocked out.
Kitty stuck her head through the only door leading off the roof and said it was clear.
We made our way through the three above-ground floors avoiding guards and looking for anything that would point us to where Victor or Scarlet and Tyler might be.
On the ground floor, Kitty stuck her head through the floor. She came up and whispered, "There's a huge tunnel down there! There are around thirty armed guards down there guarding a huge door."
"That must be where Victor is," Bobby said.
"Or Scarlet and Tyler," I added.
They all nodded and we phased through the floor. The moment we were fully through we heard shouts and people started firing and we were launched into more fighting.
I took some of the guards guns again and threw the guards against each other and at the stone wall. I went toward the door and saw a screen. The door was a huge piece of metal split in two. I ran over to the screen and tapped it. The screen read "Password" and a panel on the wall next to it lit up. A handprint scanner.
Shots were fired at the screen and the scanner and sparks went flying. Both screens were destroyed and they went dark.
I turned around right as a guard took my feet out from under me. I bounced back on my hands and kicked the guard's legs out from under him. I leapt onto him and pinned his arms down. Then, I slammed my knee into his groin and he howled in pain. He kicked me off of him and threw two knives at me. I dodged and one missed my head by less than an inch. The other had cut my side, but it wasn't too deep. I stopped the other knife midair and brought it back into my hand. In one, swift move, I threw the knife right back at the guard, giving him no time to react before the knife planted itself into his neck.
I I quickly turned away before I could get sick and looked back at the door and the destroyed screens.
I tried to bend the doors open, but it was too big and I couldn't do it. I quickly searched for Kitty and shouted for her. She had just finished off a guard with Bobby when her head popped up and ran over to me.
"What is it?" She had to shout for me to be able to hear her.
"I need you to phase me through those doors," I said, pointing.
She looked at the doors and nodded.
I did a quick check to make sure everyone was okay. Almost all the guards had been taken care of. Logan came running up and quickly understood what was happening. "I'm coming with you," he said.
I nodded and Kitty sent us through the door.
When we got through the door I saw two huge glass boxes. Inside one, I saw a skinny man, sitting on the ground. In the other I saw a tall girl with flaming, red hair.
"Scarlet, Dad."
*************************************************************************************
The two faces shot up in utter shock.
"Lily," Scarlet said. "You're here."
I ran to the box as fast as I could. "Yeah," I said, "I'm here."
I held my hand up to the glass and Scarlet did the same.
It was then, I noticed something odd. Scarlet and Tyler had been kidnapped. I expected them to be filthy, starving, and covered in bruises or something. But they weren't; they were perfectly fine, untouched. In fact, they were wearing what looked like new, clean clothes.
"Wait," I said, "how are you not hurt? I mean, I'm glad you're not, but, how?" Scarlet started to speak but I stopped her. "Forget it, that doesn't matter. Where is he," I demanded.
Scarlet looked genuinely confused. "Who," she asked.
I gave her a strange look. "The guy that kidnapped you. Victor- where is he?"
"Lily, no. He didn't take us. I mean, he did, but it's not his plan. The one who took us, it's-"
"Now, now, now, Scarlet. I wanted to be the one to tell her. Don't you spoil it for me."
Scarlet was cut off by a new voice. Before I turned around, I could tell it was female. I turned around and froze where I stood, struck speechless.
"No," Logan said, "that's not possible. How are you here?"
Victor stood at the bottom of a large set of steps. His arms were folded in front of his a devilish smirk on his face. But that's not where I was looking. There was a woman at the top of the steps that was smiling in amusement.
My face was full of horror as I found my voice long enough to get one word out, in a weak murmur.
"Mom?"
