I had only gotten around an hour of sleep before I had to see the Professor. At 7:00 in the morning, Logan and I were sitting in his office in front of his desk. Logan walked over to me, a cup in each hand.
He handed me one of the cups. "Black with extra creamer," he said.
"Thanks," I replied with a weak smile.
I had started drinking coffee when I was eleven. I started to have horrible nightmares, leaving me awake for hours. Coffee had been the only thing that could get me through the days. The nightmares occurred on and off until I was fourteen and they suddenly stopped.
Danny was the only person who knew about the nightmares. He was spending the night at my house a week after the first couple nightmares and I woke up to him shaking me trying to wake me up. He said I only tossed and turned and groaned though. I never screamed; never reacted like this.
The door opened and Storm came in and told us that Professor was waiting in the lab.
Logan led me to one of the lower levels of the school. The hallway we entered was the same white and metal hallway I was in the day I first met with Jean and the Professor. Before we turned into the lab, I looked over to the entrance to Cerebro. I felt the same sort of tugging feeling; like it wanted me to see behind the large X. I ignored it again and went into the lab.
The Professor was in the lab waiting for us, just as Storm said. "Thank you Storm. Come Lily." He gestured to the lab table and I sat down. The Professor and Jean attached several wires across my forehead and on the sides of my head. On a screen near the table, I saw the machine was monitoring my brain waves. I'm no scientist, but I could tell something was off.
I laid down on the cold metal table and shivered as it touched the skin not covered by my grey and black tank top. As Jean attached even more wires to my arms I looked up at her. "Did I wake you up last night," I asked.
She finished and laid her hand on my arm. "Yeah," she replied, giving me a small, sympathetic smile.
I reached up to touch her arm too. "I'm sorry, I don't know what happened."
She kept smiling and crouched down to meet my eyes levelly and replied, "It's okay. That's what we're here for. You know I have nightmares sometimes too?"
I blinked and asked, "You do? What are they like?"
"Well, sometimes I'll see myself, but it's not really me. I see this monster of a woman destroying everything, even the people she loved. I would wake up in cold sweat barely being able to breath. I remember how it all seemed just, just so real. I would run around looking for the people I had seen in the nightmare to make sure they were all okay. The room would shake and things would move while I was unconscious making a huge mess in the morning." She had started looking off into space and had a worried look on her face then snapped out of it. She smiled again and said, "Don't worry, it's gonna be okay. She patted my arm and walked away.
The Professor then came beside me. "Hello Lily," he said.
I smiled, "Hi Professor."
"I hear you've had quite the eventful night."
"Yeah, only a smidget," I joked, holding hand up with my finger and thumb about an inch apart.
"Well let's take a look shall we?" He rolled over to the end of the table closest to my head. He again placed his hands on my head and peeked inside my brain.

I was on the cliff with the Professor. I was looking off into the distance when he came behind me.
"So this is where you first saw him," he asked. "Do you remember what he looked like?"
"Yes," I replied. There was a stern look on my face; I wasn't frowning, but I wasn't smiling either. Why would I? I was just blank, unfeeling. I thought about the horrible way he smiled; as if he enjoyed making others suffer. "I will never forget that face."
"Imagine him standing there, please."
Then I frowned. I didn't want to see him ever again, yet I saw him every second. I couldn't get the man out of my mind. "I can't," I said, "I'm sorry Professor."
"Lily, you must," he said. "If the situation is as dire as I suspect, I must be sure it was Victor Creed who entered your mind."
I took a deep breath. "Okay," I said. I closed my eyes and pictured the way he stood on the cliff in my dream. That horrible grin on his face and him laughing at me; mocking that I could do nothing to save Derek. I opened my eyes and he was there.
He was standing right in front of me, not moving. He was just as I pictured him: despicable and horrible, with his claws and those teeth.
I turned away to the Professor. "Well," I said, "is he Victor? How did he get into my mind; he isn't a telepath. Will we be able to find him?"
He had a stern look on his face and replied, "I don't know if we will be able to pinpoint the exact location, but he left a certain" he paused and thought, "footprint. I'm not sure how he got into your mind, especially with your block on it, he isn't a telepath, your correct. Someone is helping him, or he is helping someone else; he's done it before to get power and more strength. I'm afraid what we are facing is bigger than you, Lily, bigger than him, and bigger than all of us.
