Chapter 4

Kenzie's POV
Today I am going to talk to Zack, considering homecoming is a week away.
I get up from my bed and change into a coral romper. I put on sandals and I put my hair into a side braid. I quietly go downstairs and a sigh of relief comes because my mother is passed out on the couch. I eat a muffin and walk to the door, but before I could open it
my mother woke up.
Anger filled her eyes as she saw me.
She ran towards me, but I swung the door open, and ran. I ran all the way to school in fear she would catch up.
I come into school and walk to the girls locker room, where no one was.
I slid down the lockers and cried.
I cried because I knew it couldn't get any worse than this.
I heard the door open, I look up and see Johnny.
He comes over and hugs me, and we just stay there for a while. Instead of questioning him about where he's been, how he knew I was in here, I didn't say anything at all.
The bell rang and before Johnny could ask what was wrong, I ran off to find Zack.
Johnny's POV
I slam my fists against the lockers.
She knew something was up. I can't hurt Kenzie, but I can't hurt Maddie.
I walk outside and slam the door shut as I try to cool down and figure out how I'm going to make this work
because I can't lose Kenzie,
and I can't lose Maddie.
Kenzie's POV
I run into the building to find Zach.
I saw him talking to Kalani, but this couldn't wait.
I run up to him and tap on his shoulder. He turns around
"We need to talk" I say. He nods and waves goodbye to Kalani as I start pulling him to the side of the lockers no one was at.
He knew what we had to talk about, because me and him both knew something Brynn didn't.
He had been hiding something from her this whole time, and I am the only one who knows.
"Why are you doing this to Brynn?"
