Chapter 13

Kenzie's POV:
I feel really bad for what I did to Johnny, but I'm fine being that girl. He needs to know that I'm not just gonna come back to him every time he apologizes, I won't. I get out of bed and realize it's Friday.
Fucking finally.
I put on an off the shoulder black top and dark blue ripped jeans. I slip on my black slip on vans, and put my hair into a half up half down bun.
I put of light makeup and brush my teeth.
I realize my mom could be home, so I quietly slip downstairs.
I hear her talking on the phone.
"Hey Kurt, it's me again..... call me back when you can, bye" she hangs up.
My mom usually does this a lot where she tries to get back with my dad.
He was smart to leave her.
Right as I'm about to walk out the door she sees me.
Her face turns from sadness to anger as she comes running towards me.
She slams my head against the door.
Thankfully, I opened the door just in time to run out before she could do it again.
I felt really dizzy, but it's okay, I'm used to it.
I run near the bus stop, and wait for Brynn.
She just got her license, which is good for me because I hate riding the bus.
I see her pull up to the curb and I hop into her red convertible.
I take the aux cord and we start jamming to Bruno Mars.
"OOOH DON'T WE LOOK GOOD TOGETHER" we sang as loud as we could.
We sang the whole song until it was over and we started laughing.
We parked and started walking to the building.
"So what's up with you and Zack?" I say grinning.
"Everything" she says blushing.
"I'm really happy for you guys" I say and she smiles.
"Thanks, now moving on...." she says.
"The date with Brandon is tonightt" she says smirking.
"I knowwwwww" I say smiling.
"I'll come over after school to help you get ready" she says.
"Okay" I say and we separate to our lockers.
Then all of a sudden I see the nastiest thing ever.
Johnny walking in with his arm wrapped around Kalani Hilliker.
People are right, she does move around.
Luckily Brandon came up to me and we started talking.
Johnny's POV:
Why run after Kenzie? Tons of girls would love to be with me. I realized this after last night.
Last night was amazing.
Kalani is just what I need to get over Kenzie.
"Hey babe I'm gonna go say hi to my friends" she says.
"Okay" I say and she kisses me goodbye.
Then I walk to my locker and see Brandon and Kenzie talking.
Ew.
Oh well, she's missing out.
The bell rings and I start walking to class.
Kenzie's POV:
Brandon seemed really excited about our date tonight. He seems nice, but I haven't heard good things about him. Everyone who's dated him says he's a player and he'll use you, but maybe they're jealous. Guess we're gonna find out.
After many classes the bell finally rings for lunch.
Yessssss.
I walk to the cafeteria and meet Brynn, Zack, and Brandon at our table.
As we are eating, Kalani and Johnny walk in. Kalani then bumps her shoulder into my arm, and says "oops."
What an attention whore.
I just roll my eyes and keep eating, but I guess she wasn't done. As soon as she got to her group of friends, they all started looking at me and laughing.
I finally had enough and I started to speak.
"Hey bitch, I know you can't tell, but you're louder than a horn, stop talking about me" I said and smiled.
"Dang kz" Brynn said and I smiling.
Johnny was not happy at all.
"At least she isn't a slut like you, always all over me when we were together."
Then her whole group laughed.
I was hurt at first.
A tear came out of my eye, but I wouldn't take it.
I'm the heartbreaker now.
"Awww Kalani look your boyfriend has come to defend you, isn't that cute, ooh but watch out! You're probably not the only girl Johnny's doing" I said and it shut them right up.
They were definitely not happy, but I was.
Johnny had no words, but his face showed it.
Angry but guilty. That'll show him.
Brynn and I high-five and continued eating.
As soon as we finished eating, Brynn and Zack left to go talk and Brandon and I started walking outside.
"Good comeback, who knew Kenzie was such a bitch" he laughed.
"Thanks, I didn't know it either" I smiled.
"Don't forget our date tonight" he said.
"Oh I won't" I grinned.
Then the bell rang and we walked to our next class.
*timeskip*
Brynn and I found each other after school and drove to my house to get ready.
I made sure my mom wasn't gonna be home, so it was okay for her to be here.
As I opened the door, my house reeked of alcohol.
There were empty bottles all over the floor, it was a mess.
"I'm really sorry" I whispered.
"Hey it's okay K, I know it's not your fault" she said.
We both hugged and then walked to my room.
"Hmmm so do you know where he's taking you?" She asked.
"No, but I assume it'll be a fancy restaurant" I said.
She nodded and pulled out a really cute black tight, long sleeved dress with knee high boots.
I nodded and put them on quickly.
Then Brynn curled my hair and put on my makeup.
When she was done I looked into a mirror.
Wow, I look stunning.
"Thanks B" I smiled.
"Np you're gonna kill it" she smiled.
"I hope so" I say when all of a sudden the doorbell rings.
I grab my purse and wave good bye to Brynn thinking it's Brandon.
It's not though.
