Mackenzie's POV
I walk back in agony to grab my things from Nadia's house. Still in a state of thought, I open the door, and walk in to see my friends with no emotion.
By my face, they can tell something is up. My face is completely in shock with no emotion, and my eyes are all red and puffed up.
"Mackenzie what happened?!" Nadia said.
"Me and Johnny broke up" I said quietly.
I grab my things and leave the house, not looking to see the sympathy and confusion on their faces, knowing they have a million questions to ask me.
Brynn's POV
Zack picks me up from Nadia's shortly after Mackenzie left.
I have so many questions to ask her, I thought her and Johnny were doing good, but I know that she needs some time, so I decide to come and visit later.
As he drives me to my house, I invite him in and we decide to watch a movie. During the movie, I can feel the tension, I know Zach and I haven't been like sexual or anything, but he's been off for the past few days, and I think it may be because of that. It's not that I don't want to, he's just so gentle and never asked, so I decide to branch out and give him what he wants. I pause the movie and he looks at me with confusion.
"I'm ready" I say.
"What do you mean?" He says.
"You never asked me if I was ever ready to have sex with you, and I think that's sweet, but I am ready" I say.
I start making out with him.
As things heat up I take off my shirt and continue the kiss, but he pulls away.
"Brynn we can't do this" he says.
"Zach it's okay" I say as I start making out with him and tugging at his shirt, but he pulls away again.
"I don't want to" he says.
I moved away slowly with confusion and hurt on my face.
I put my shirt back on in embarrassment and he can tell.
"Brynn you know I love you and I would love to have sex with you, but there's something you should know" He says.
"Am I not pretty enough for you? Are you going to leave me? I thought this was what you wanted" I say my voice cracking through the words.
"No Brynn, your beautiful, I could never leave you" He says with sadness on his face.
"Then what is it?" I say quietly.
He grabs my hand.
"Put on your shoes I'm going to take you somewhere" He says.
I put on my flip flops and we leave.
During the drive, he grabs my hand and squeezes it. I slightly smile and hope that I was wrong.
After a long 20 minute car drive, we park at our spot, a beautiful lake that doesn't get many visitors, where we've been coming since we first started dating.
He gets out of the car and rushes to my side to open the door for me.
I mumble a thanks as he grabs my hand and leads me to the dock.
We both sit down and he sighs before talking.
"I have a kid" he says.
I freeze in silence, not knowing what to say.
"It was a drunken one night stand that happened years ago, and she left town with him, while I visit sometimes and pay support. I didn't tell you because I love you very much Brynn and I don't want you to leave me" He says almost breaking down.
After a minute of silence I speak up.
"What's his name?" I say quietly.
Zach grins through the tears coming down his face.
"Daniel" he says.
"I want to meet him" I say.
He nods quickly and grabs my hand.
"And I could never leave you Zach, even if I wanted to" I say quietly.
He gives me the biggest smile I've ever seen and hugs me tightly.
After that we pull apart and his kisses me. Every time we kiss it feels like the world stops.
"So, you would have sex with me?" I ask as we pull apart.
He nods with a smirk on his face and I blush.
"But only when you want to" He says as I kiss his cheek.
Mackenzie's POV
I finally decide to go home and walk in quietly, hoping my mom was asleep.
She wasn't.
I walk to my room and there she is, angrily staring down at me.
I drop my things and just stare in fear.
"I'm going to go to jail because of you!" She said and smacked my face.
I start crying.
"What do you mean?" I ask and she kicks me to the ground.
"Like you don't know your dad's been watching me" she barks.
I scream in agony as she kicks me all around.
Then she drags me by my hair down the stairs and hits me with a baseball bat in the stomach and on my leg.
I scream very loudly in pain as she punches my face until I black out.
*time skip to 12 hours later*
Lauren's POV
When I get to school, I notice Mackenzie isn't here.
When lunch comes around I find Johnny to see if he knows anything.
"Hey do you know where Mackenzie is?" I say.
He shakes his head with a sad and confused look on his face.
"I haven't spoken to her since we broke up" he says quietly.
"I'm going to go check up on her, do you want to come?" I ask.
He nods and we both hop into his car. When we get to her house and ring the doorbell, nobody answers.
"She has to be here" I say as I go to the back door and use the key that Kenzie leaves.
I open it quietly.
"Mackenzie?" I yell.
With no answer we walk in and I tell Johnny to look upstairs.
I look everywhere until I go into the living room.
It's a little dark in there, so I walk in quietly and turn on the lights.
Thats when I see Mackenzie's, pale, lifeless body.
I scream in horror.
"JOHNNY!"
