Chapter 12

Johnny's POV
I never told Mackenzie I loved her, I need to win her back. In order for that though, I need Maddie.
Maddie wants to get close to Kenzie with me out of the picture, so she can help.
I pull out my phone and text Maddie.
J-Maddie
M-What
J-I need your help to win Kenzie back
M-Ugh meet me at the store in 10
J-Alright
I put on my shoes and drive to the store.
When I get there I see Maddie waiting at a table in Starbucks. I walk up and greet her.
"Hey, thanks for coming" I said.
"This isn't for you, it's for Kenzie" she said.
"Noted" I said.
"Okay I have the perfect plan, but first we need to wait until night, and get a few things" she said.
I nodded and we both ran around the store finding the perfect things for Kenzie.

Kenzie's POV
Here I am on a Thursday night, alone.
It may be a school night, but at least a friend could keep me company.
My doorbell rings and I quickly run to get it before my mom does.
I open the door to see Maddie, who I haven't seen since the family dinner.
"Hey, can we talk?" She asked.
I was hesitant at first, but I nodded and let her in.
"Listen Mackenzie, I'm really sorry about Johnny, I didn't know you guys were together, and we ended things" she said.
"I understand, it wasn't your fault" I said and she smiled.
She brought me into a hug and it lasted until my mom came out.
Drunk
Again.
"Heyyyy Maddie, it's my favoriteeee daughter" she slurred.
I was so embarrassed that I just kept looking down at my shoes.
"Oh uh hey mom" Maddie said.
Maddie turned and gave me the worried look, but I gave her a reassuring look.
"Well bye guys, see you" she said.
As soon as she closed the door my mom looked at me angrily.
"Look what you did, you made her leave!" She said.
"I'm sorry mom" I said looking down.
"You better be" my mom said as she pushed me to the floor and I hit my knee.
Tears welled up in my eyes as she left, so I just went to my room. I took off my makeup, and left my hair down.
I changed into a pink sweatshirt and some sweatpants. I lay on my bed when all of a sudden, I hear noises at my window.
At first I duck down, but then I start crawling to my window as the noises continued.
I look out to see the one and only Johnny.
I open my window and ask "what are you doing here?"
"I needed to see you" he said.
He had flowers and a teddy bear with him, which made me smile a little.
"Kenzie please take me back, I hate being without you, and I'm here to be the man you want me to be" he said.
I wanted to say yes, I really did, but then I remember everything that happened.
"Johnny, we can't be together, it would never work out, and I can't get hurt, I won't" I said.
I close the window and wipe a tear coming out of my eye.
Johnny's POV
Damnit!
I angrily leave her house and throw the bear somewhere in her yard. I throw the flowers in a trash can and keep walking. Tears threaten to spill out, but I keep them in. I never really realized how much I hurt Kenzie.
I decide to go to a party and let off some steam.
I walk into Jacob's party and immediately start to drink.
One after another I kept drinking to hide my emotions.
Next thing I know I'm taking off my shirt with a girl in a bedroom.
