Day Care [8]

(Y/n)'s P.O.V

We finished packing in about 5 minutes, and left where we were staying. Bianca headed off somewhere, and that left me and Hilbert alone. It was quiet at first, Lillipup walking besides me and Zorua on my shoulder. It was a nice silence, but Hilbert had to say something.
"So... Uh, (Y/n)... Do you remember yesterday?" Odd topic, wonder what he's going to ask.
"Yes, why?" I ask in a curious tone.
"What did that grunt say to you? You looked really shocked." My eyes go wide. 'He saw?!' I sharply inhaled out of shock. I try to shake off the fear that was creeping up my spine, I coughed before replying.
"Um... W-well... It's not r-really something I'd like to talk about... S-sorry." I attempted to say clearly, but of course I stutter!
"Come on (Y/n)! It can't be that bad!" He gasped. "Unless..." 'Crud! Has he guessed?' "You were a part of Team Plasma!"
"Thank Arceus." I breathed out. "No, I was never a part of those idiot. And if I was, I would hope Arceus would smite me!" Well, technically that wasn't a lie, I was never part of Team Plasma... Just born. "... One day, I will tell you, Bianca, Cheren and everyone I've gotten close to, about my past. But until then, hold any questions 'till the end of the ride."
"I can deal with that..." We continued walking until we got to the day care.
"Welp, this is my stop! What do you plan on doing next Hill?"
"I'll do some training up ahead, and I'll come back to get you when I'm done! Then we can go to the next city together, if you want that is."
"Okay, I've learnt to have a buddy with you small pokemon like Lillipup and Zorua still can't do much. No offence guys, but it's kinda true."
"So if I say around 2 hours, will that be good?" I nod, and go to walk inside.

"Hey... isn't that Cheren?" Hilbert asks. I turn around, curious to see if it was him. I squint at the figure in the distance, trying to make out the persons face. It definitely looked like him. Hilbert ran off to the person without another word. I turn away chuckling to myself at Hilberts childish side. I open the door and walk inside. I was greeted with a warm atmosphere, you know the kind that will make you smile without doing anything, I walked up to the old woman behind the counter and she smiled kindly at me.
"I'm here about the help wanted thing, I'm willing to work for around two hours and be paid whatever you think is acceptable."
"Oh! Thank you dear, we need the help. The man behind you will take you out back, then I would ask you to clean and feed the pokemon here. Is that okay Miss?"
"Yes, sorry for not introducing myself! I'm (Y/n). I'll do anything to help!" The man walked beside me.
"This way Miss (Y/n)." The man turned quickly and walked towards a door. I followed quickly behind him, the man held the door open for me, so I hurried up and went through the door. Laid before me was a huge field of pokemon, there were Blitzle, Lillipup, Patrat, Purrloin; you name it, it was here! There were also berry trees along the side for the pokemon to snack and a ton of ponds scattered throughout the place, those would be a real help with water-type pokemon! "Miss (Y/n), you'll be working with the newer pokemon. Are you experienced with dark-, ghost- and psychic-type pokemon?" The man asked.
"Um... I'm used to dark-types if that helps? I haven't encountered many psychic- ghost-type pokemon..." I replied honestly, after all I have Zorua! I've helped with Munna, but I never got a hang of looking after psychic-types, even with being able to understand them.
"Don't worry, we'll start you off with what your familiar with." He suddenly started walking off, I ran to catch up with him. "We have to keep the types in separate areas, they can leave and go into the main area, but usually they stay in their type specific enclosure. It has everything that they'll need." We kept walking for what felt like quarter of an hour, but it was more like 5 minutes, we got to this huge area shrouded with willow trees and other plants that would darken the area. Looking around I saw more Purrloin and I saw Mandabuzz, Vullby, a Deino, Liepard and a couple of others not from this region.

"Here, you can use this. Be careful around Deino, he bites." The man gave me a brush, and left hastily.
'Well, that was a quick exit. Now come on! I want to meet new pokemon!' Lillipup yipped happily.
'Meh, I think I'll just sleep on Humans head again.' Zorua yawned.
"I swear, and here I thought I'd actually be called my name for once." I sighed, and walked in. Almost instantly a load of pokemon rushed me, I lost count of how many times I almost fell over. "How about a good cleaning before food?" I heard a roar of approval from the pokemon. The pokemon quite literally lined up in waiting, well, all but one. It was the Deino. 'Hm... I'll go over to him when I'm done grooming the line here.' About 20 minutes later, the entire line was gone, and everyone was spotless! I got up off of the floor and walked over to the Deino, the closer I got to him the more cuts and bruises I saw littered over his body. I quickened my walk to make sure he was okay. I kneeled down beside him and inspected the cuts that I could see. 'None of them look infected, but what about the other side?' "Hey Deino... You okay? These cuts look painful, would you mind if I looked at them?" Deino raised his head off the floor and looked in my general direction.
'Why would a human want to help me? Not even the pokemon here want anything to do with me.' He snapped angrily.
"Well I'm not like others! Now, could you lean on your other side? I want to check those, we wouldn't want them to get an infection!" I went to help him up, but Deino attacked me when I tried to help. "Ouch! What was that for? I'm just trying to help."
'I didn't want help!' And like, that Deino limped away.
'(Y/n)? Are ya okay? Who did this to ya?' I didn't need to look up to know it was Lillipup talking to me. I groaned at the dull pain that was in my body after that Tackle from Deino.
"I'm fine puppy, Deino just tackled me that's all..."
Lillipup growled. 'Deino? Where is he? I'm going to knock him out for hurting ya! Where are ya Deino?' Lillipup bounded off to find and fight Deino.
"Really? Can't I get a break?" I ran off to find Lillipup and Deino, he was already hurt enough. I looked for a while before I heard Lillipups growl. I dashed to where the sound came from, what I saw wasn't pleasant. Deino and Lillipup where fighting, and by the looks of it Lillipup was losing. Lillipup had bite marks all over, and some nasty bruises forming; Deino on the other hand didn't have any new cuts, one or two new bruises at the most. Deino was about to use a Dragon Pulse on Lillipup to finish the fight. If it hit Lillipup, he might not be able to walk for a while... Or anything!

"Lillipup! Protect!" I shout breathlessly, I hoped Lillipup heard it! Looking up, terrified of what I might see, Deino unleashed a powerful Dragon Pulse aimed directly at my battered Lillipup, who used Protect. I ran over to Lillipup, potions at the ready. Lillipup was really weak, the fight I didn't see must have been a hard one. I used the potion on him while Lillipup kept a Protect up. Lillipup was fully healed when he dropped the Protect, and Arceus above, was he mad! He used Work Up so quickly I almost didn't notice him use it! Deino was getting ready to use another Dragon Pulse but Lillipup saw this and Protected, and followed up with a hard Take Down, knocking Deino to the ground. Lillipup used this time to use a new move, Return, which hit hard again. Deino was struggling to get up due to his injuries, old and new, but he didn't throw in the towel yet! He was determined if he lost, he was taking Lillipup down with him! Deino used a powerful Take Down as payback, it hit Lillipup and knocked him down. Lillipup struggled to get up, but was the winner, Deino had feinted himself with the recoil from Take Down.

I gave Lillipup a Sitrus Berry and quickly went to the feinted Deino. I bandaged his battered body while he was feinted, and used one of my revives and a super potion while he was still dizzy. I went to go back to Lillipup when a light caught my attention, where Lillipup once stood was a ball of blinding white light! It was a few seconds before the light dimmed, and I was shocked to say the least. Lillipup had evolved into Herdier. I ran up to him and hugged Herdier!
"Well done Buddy! You evolved!" I praised him.
'I don't like it. I'm bigger now! I won't fit in your bag! I have to walk everywhere!' Herdier barked sadly.
"Oh grow up, I'm still going to carry you!" I said. I stood up, "Come on Herdier, let's go find Zorua. Hill will be coming back any second!"

Ok, kinda intense but not really. Not to me anyway. That's a lie it was actually really fun to think about this part, and if you couldn't guess this chapter and the last were one but I just didn't like it so here we go! Herdier is evolved for the gym battle next chapter. But until then, whatcha think? Tell me! Please? More N coimg soon to! Ah! I'll shut up, spoilers!
