(Y/n)'s P.O.V

We sat around for a couple of days, making sure Rufflet had a speedy recovery. Herdier and Zorua took it in turns to get a fresh, ripe Sitrus Berry for Rufflet, while I trained Rufflet up to be able to fly again. It was about a week of recovery for Rufflet to fly, but sadly he couldn't keep it up for long, he could fly for 10 minutes max before needing to rest. Rufflet, being the newest member to the party, was allowed to say when we could go on, but he was still injured. He said a few days ago that when he could fly, we'd keep moving, and well... He can fly.

Currently we were in the Poke Center, it was so quiet. True, it was almost half past 4 in the morning. 'Well, comrade! Where to first?!' Rufflet squawked loudly, scaring me half to death and nearly giving the poor nurse a heart attack.
"Rufflet, it around 4am... Mind being a li'l quieter?" I tiredly whispered. Rufflet looked down sadly, but he stayed quiet.
"Um... Miss? We could lend you a room, if you want..." The tired nurse offered. I contemplated it, before long I nodded and lazily got up. "Right this way."

**Time Skip - 5 Hours Later**

'Human! Wake up!' Zorua barked loudly. I screamed, not expecting to be woken up in such a way. One of the nurses who work in the Center knocked on the door. I knew it was a nurse due to her concerned voice. "Miss? Are you okay?!"
"Yes! Sorry... I had a... Nightmare... Yeah, that's all..." It was the best lie I could come up with. 'What else could I've said? My Zorua screamed at me to wake up? No, I'm not sounding bonkers.' I debated my lie mentally while I packed up.
'Ya okay? Zorua seemed to have given ya quite the shock.' Herdier barked, all I could do is sigh and nod. 'I have to teach Zorua not to do that...'

I must have looked odd. A sixteen-year-old girl walking around with a Zorua on her head, a Herdier following merrily along and a Rufflet who can't fly in a straight line. We were walking over to the gym, or where it said it was, but the place I found was more along a museum. It was a big, fancy, white building; it looked like it didn't belong in this city! Walking in the huge opening, I was greeted by a massive skeleton of a pokemon. "Hm... What pokemon was that?" I wonder aloud. I continued looking around, there were more fossils, a nice white stone, some bones, a meteorite and some ancient scriptures. When I came up to the large stairs in the back, I heard a familiar voice.
"Hilbert, if you take any longer, I will leave you here." That was unmistakable! Running up the stairs, I come face to face with the grumpy glasses waring Cheren. Happy to see a familiar face I greet him excitedly.
"Hey Cheren! How've you been?" I couldn't help but smile when he sighed. 'Such a Cheren thing to do!'
"It's been at most a week, what possibly could have happened in a week?" I think for a moment and decide to tease him a little, I'd love to see him flustered again! 'Just say it as an option... I hope this works' With the idea, I list off a couple of random things.
"You could have got a gym badge, got a girlfriend or boyfriend if that's what you're into, could have been kidnapped, found buried treasure... I could go on." I smile at his shocked face.
He cleared his throat before replying. "Please don't. And to answer those questions or whatever they are, yes, I got a new badge. No, I'm still single and I do not like men, didn't get kidnapped, nor did I find treasure."
Still wanting to tease him, I think of a joke me and Bianca made a while ago. "Man, your boring... And here I thought I'd be able to help with yours and Hills wedding... Ah well!" I giggled at Cherens flushed face. 'That's the reaction I wanted!' "Chill it was a joke! Anyway, I helped this poor Rufflet fly again, I found out Zorua is an evil pokemon who likes to yell in someone's ear... But anyway, any tips on the gym?"
To my surprise he actually shares his knowledge! "Yeah, I do actually. This gym is a normal-type gym, so be careful, they have a very deep move pool. Use fighting-type moves against them, they don't like those."

'Okay, use fighting-type moves and be cautious they use a variety of moves.' Another familiar voice brings me back to reality. "Okay, I'm done Cheren! Oh, (Y/n), hi! Have you beat the gym yet?" I shake my head in denial. "Do you want me to wait for you to finish the gym?" Being slightly worried still, I politely accept.
"Please, if you don't mind." He just smiles widely, before replying with:
"No I don't mind, Cheren I'll catch up with you." Cheren just rolls his eyes and leaves. Me and Hill look at each other and burst into laughter, all because of Cherens eye roll. "Well, you ready?" I nod, then I look at my pokemon. Simultaneously, they all nod.
"We're ready."
