???'s POV...

Lost within a barren, smoldering desert, I slept peacefully, underneath the little shade provided by a dead tree and the setting sun. But then an aura, airy and powerful, swept over my soul.

Wake up... Please...

A voice desperately hissed with in the depths of my mind. I jolt awake, cold sweat dripping down my face, my heart still throbbing from a forgotten dream. I sat there, lost in my thoughts and gazing upon the glistening sunset spreading across the desolate horizon.

...Where am I?

Even though I had no idea where the heck I was, I manage to become somewhat familiar with my surroundings. Glancing at the dusty gloves and sabotons equipped, they're coated with what appears to be a centimeter thick layer of dirt.

What a mess.

With my sapphire blue eyes peering  through a unique steel mask, I carefully scan the set of armor donned. A black cape, with navy blue satin on the inside, (which was lighter than feathers) and shoulder pads the color of sky blue, fancily lined with a silver rim.

But I can't stand being this dirty, so rather than taking off my armor and cleaning it piece by piece, I violently shake the dust away, much like a dog would.

But no matter how filthy, atrocious or weird I appear to be, please, know that I am still fabulous as HECK.

Scoffing on my heel to face the other way, I came face to face with a creature. It was standing on two legs, with a tinier version of itself sitting in a small opening on its belly. Beady eyes, big ears, and a doglike muzzle pointed towards me, balancing on its tail to keep straightened.

Sniff. Huff. Sniff. Huff.

Why am I caring so much about its breathing?

...I should totally poke it.

Reaching out to its head, I gently pet the animal, and got a kick to the gut in return. The knock-back shoved me to the trunk of a tree, and the thing hopped away to an entire herd of other creatures identical to it. Turning towards me again it grunts happily. A rising pain sprouts from the inside.

Oooowwwwww...

Wait. Hold on, I'm already losing consciousness?! That thing only KICKED me, and I'm about to-

My thinking came to an abrupt end as I pass out.

I awake unwillingly, and once again, I'm totally lost. Once again scanning my surroundings, it's easy to see that all that's within sight is either dead or close to being so. Probably including me. Another thing that was slightly concerning was the fact that I'm in a different location when the creature kicked me.

Oh pricklebats. Isn't this just wondrous.

...Where'd I learn to curse like that?

And...

What's a pricklebat..?

I shake the thoughts, and once again dust my armor off, I can't help but notice how short I am compared to that dead and shriveled tree....

Why must I be so... tiny..?

I decide to move on, as dusk descends over the land.

A little over an hour passes as I wander the wasteland, hopelessly lost and exhausted.

So much for stamina...

I collapse beneath the side of another shriveling tree. Knowing that I'll probably die at this rate. So, I decide that I might as well die moving rather going to sleep and never wake up. I head towards the rising moon, for what seemed to be eternity.

After a while, I begin to see the hopelessness of the situation. Lost, starving, and thirsty. My parched lips could barely move without being stung by a singeing pain.

Hang in there, this is just the beginning....

Without a second thought, I stagger on towards the horizon, hunger gnawing at the edge of the mind.

I walked.

And trudged.

Crawled, even.

Until I feel nothing.

I fall, my eyes drifting to the back of my head...

"HOLY PYRIBBIT! Wait... Could it be..?"

What the heck?

As I regain consciousness, the little figure in front of me was in a panic, searching himself. "Uh, don't worry! I-I got you! Oh? You have something engraved in your mask... Opala? Is that your name? That's a cool name, Opala." He said while pulling out a small canteen, ripping my mask off, and flipping me over, exposing my mouth. As he poured the water out of the canteen, the relief felt unbelievable.

"Urrrrggggggghhhhhhhh..." I moan quietly, as the water cools off my body.

"Thanks, bud-"

No one was around.

What?! How?!? Could've sworn someone was there...

And...
do I have my name engraved on my mask?
I pick up the hunk of fancy steel and sure enough, it plainly stated 'Opala' and some random numbers.
Huh.
I guess I'll go by Opala now...

BANG!

What the-

SHOOP.

Ow.

I reach the scratch my side, but I feel something...
I grasp the object, stabbed shallowly in my skin...

A dart?

I turn around to see an ice blue Star Warrior with sky blue eyes, holding a small rifle, pointed at me. What kinda spooked me was that our masks were nearly identical...

Wait a second...
Hold on. That little...

Shoot.

I fall backwards and slip into some sort of fake slumber, feeling a tad bit numb.

Oh well. At least I'll get some sleep tonight...
