Chapter 1- Jeff

Natalie POV
      "Jeff?" I ask as I walk over to the new group of med students.
      "Hey Natalie!" He says pulling me into a big hug.
      "You're in med school now?"
      "Yeah, I got hurt on the job, and I always liked the medical side of things. And apparently I'm the oldest in my class. They call me Pops."
     "Hey Maggie, did you see who's here?" I call out as I see her approaching.
     "I heard the rumors!" She says before engulfing him in a big hug.
     "Hey Will! This is Jeff Clarke. Him and my Jeff used to hang out all the time. We called them the 'two Jeff's.'"
     "Nice to meet you." Will says obviously uncomfortable with the situation. "Hey Nat, I need a consult."
     "Alright, see you later Jeff!"
     "Oh we're going by Nat now? See you later." He says before turning to hear Ms. Goodwin's 'welcome to Chicago Med speech.'
     I follow Will into the doctor's lounge. "What is it Will?"
     "What's going on between you and the med student?"
     "Nothing! And his name is Jeff. We were just great friends."
     "Sure you are. I thought you weren't ready for a relationship!"
     "I'm not!"
     "Oh so this whole thing is what, an act to make you more like able?"
     "Will! This isn't a thing. I haven't seen the man in five years! He's the only living piece of my Jeff I have left. Excuse me for wanting some stability in my life!"
     "Oh my gosh Natalie! You don't understand do you? He won't give you stability! He's in med school, remember how unstable those four years were?"
     "Yeah, but..."
     "You don't understand though! I want you to know, I will be here when he breaks your heart."
     "Will."
     "Natalie, I love you. And I'm only trying to look out for you."
      "I have to go, see you later Will." I say as I walk out.
       "So Natalie, when did you start going by Nat? Hey, is everything okay?" Jeff asks catching up with me.
      "Um, everyone calls me Nat now. And nothings  wrong, Will is just acting weird."                 
      "Wanna have lunch together and talk about it?"      
      "Yeah, I'd love that."

AN: Hope you guys are liking the story! I will try and update at least once a week. First few chapters may be more frequent only because I have them written out.
