Kili POVLocation: Dungeons

I dreamt of The fiery red hair and deep green-eyed elf this night. Her eyes were, so intriguing. She is unlike any woman I  have seen before. I need to know her name, but I don't know the next chance I'm going to get to talk to her.

I slowly opened my eyes to the dim light. I should not be dreaming of such things. I have no chance with her. I rose to a sitting position.

I pulled the stone my mother gave me from my pocket. It was a deep blue color, resembling the night sky. It was engraved with the runes of my promise I made to my mother.

Again my thoughts traveled back to the fiery red-haired elf with green eyes, I had no idea what I really felt, Though it must be something because I feel a towards her. I imagined seeing her once again, and a flutter resonated through me.

It could just be that she saved my life, Nothing more, but if I remember Earenniel also saved my life, yet I have no such feelings for her. Frustrated with my thoughts I began to throw the rune stone up in the air to calm my nerves. I was bored and had nothing else to do. I followed the stone every time as I tossed it in the dim light of my confined caged before It returned in my waiting palm.

I ran my thumb over the polished blue rock in my hands, thinking of home, the home that I belonged to, the one that was taken from us, The Lonely Mountain.

A glimpse of Red arouses me from my thoughts about the past and I glanced up Briefly at the she-elf for a second before returning my eyes to my hands.

Third Person P.O.V
Location: Dungeons

Tauriel was sent to Release the Prisoner, Earenniel, Kings orders. She was sure why Earenniel was held in a cell perhaps she said something to anger the king. Usually, when someone does that, they are not released the very same day. Neither would they be given a room to stay in and clothes to wear.

Earenniel cell was the highest placed. Tauriel would have to pass every cell in order to get to hers, and something in Kili's caught her eye.  So she stops in front of his cell. She wasn't able to see what he was throwing up in the air at first, but then she caught a glimpse of the blue stone.

"The stone in your hand. What is it?" Kili glances up at the she-elf once again and this time his eyes don't return to his hands, but they stay looking at her as he answers his question.

"It is a talisman." He says looking down at the stone.

"A powerful spell lies upon it. If any but a dwarf reads the runes on this stone," he shakes his head slightly, barely able to repress the grin tugging at his lips.

"they will be forever cursed." He finishes.

He thrusts the stone towards her, she held startled gaze for a second longer inching away slightly when it was placed to where her eyes could see. she was ready to walk away.

"Or not." He says and she abruptly stops and looks back to him.

"Depending on whether you believe in that kind of thing, it's just a token." Kili releases a playful grin.

She looks at him, intrigued, a slow curious smile dances across her lovely features.

"A rune stone." He stares down at it. "My mother gave it to me so I would remember my promise." He glances up at her to read her expression.

"What promise?" She asks stepping forward, with a timid smile upon her lips.

"That I would come back to her." He said. Sadness lingers in his deep brown eyes as he stared up at her.

After a moment of silence, he continues.

"She worries." Kili says and tosses the stone into the air, great mischief coming back into his expression.

"She thinks I'm reckless." He smiles.

"Are you?" She asks meeting his eyes.

"Nah." He says grinning, tossing the runestone into the air one last time. When it comes down into his hands, the stone slips from his grip and rolls through the bars of his cell door. Tauriel's quick reflexes react immediately and her foot instantly darts out to stop the stone from rolling over the gapped edge.

She reaches to pick it up and he stands at the door of his cell. She lifts the blue rune stone in her hand to the light, examining it.

"Sounds like quite a party they're having up there." He remarks

"It is *Mereth nun Gilith*-" She turns to him before walking the edge of the narrow stone walkway, with her back to him once again.

"-*The Feast of Starlight.*...All light is sacred to the Eldar." She switches the runestone to her other hand, and for a second her voice is somewhere else.

"What wood elves love best is the light of the stars." She says with such belief.

"I always thought it is a cold light. Remote... and far away." He says and she looks back walking towards him.

"It is a memory, Precious and pure" She says.

He stares up at her with his brown eyes, full of wonder.

"Like your promise." She says opening her hand to give him back his rune stone. thou A thoughtful smile curling on her lips. He reaches through the bars and grasps it from her waiting palm. Looking into her eyes, then staring down at it in thought.

"I have walked there sometimes." she says her expression, filled with excitement and wonder.
"Beyond the forest and up into the night. I have seen the world fall away...and the white light forever fills the air." She says full of emotion.

Kili can't seem to take his eyes off her, his stare full of awe and complete attention.

"I saw a fire moon once." He says. Grabbing her attention, she turns back to him in amazement and slowly advances towards his cell.

"It rose over the pass near Dublin. Huge. Red and gold it was. It filled the sky." His words captured her complete attention and she absentmindedly sits on the steps of the small set of stairs next to his cell.

"We were an escort for some merchants from Ered Luin, they were trading in Silverbuck for furs. We took the Greenway south, keeping the mountain to our left, and then, this huge fire moon, right in our path. I wish I could show you..." Kili said continues on with his wild tales, beaming when she gave him a smile.

Legolas watched the two from the highest level, They didn't notice his presence will he watched them talk. Earenniel watched from her cell that was across from where Legolas was standing. She saw it in his eyes. His expression only said one thing, jealousy.
