Kihyun wandered along the streets in the late afternoon, walking past shops selling things ranging from used books to ramen.
It smells so good. I want to have some.
He stopped at a ramen restaurant and looked at the menu which was pasted on the glass window.
He walked into the shop, taking in the fragrance. I never smelled anything as good as this in America. He sat down and flipped open the menu.
I think I'll just have some kimchi ramen. He called for the waiter and nearly dropped his phone when he saw the waiter's face.
"H-Hyunwoo?" He asked. Hyunwoo's eyes widened in surprise. "We meet again!" Hyunwoo smiled and fiddled with his pen excitedly.
Kihyun nodded eagerly. "Alright, let me take your order and I'll see if I have some time off." Hyunwoo pulled out a notepad from his pocket.
Kihyun placed his order and watched as Hyunwoo tucked his pen behind his ear while walking over to the counter. He's such a friendly person.
His noodles came in a few minutes. Hyunwoo sat down opposite Kihyun, wiping his palms on his apron. "I haven't gotten your name yet, little American boy."
Kihyun laughed. "I'm Yoo Kihyun, and I'm as Korean as you are." Hyunwoo chuckled at Kihyun's witty response.
"So....I thought you worked as a flight attendant. What brings you here?" Kihyun asked. Hyunwoo jabbed his pen in the direction of the counter. "My parents run this restaurant. Since it's my day off, I figured I should spend whatever little time I have to spare with them."
Kihyun was impressed. He's hardworking and loves his parents so much....not to add that he's incredibly handsome.
Then he stopped.
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING, YOO KIHYUN?
How can you find a man handsome....when you're a man yourself?
Hyunwoo snapped Kihyun out of his daze. "Earth to the little American boy." He smiled kindly at Kihyun.
"Sorry, I kinda drifted away and didn't catch what you said." He scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "Ah, it's okay. I was just commenting on your hair. It looks good on you."
WHAT!?
Kihyun could feel his face turn red. He lowered his head into the steam coming from the bowl of piping hot noodles. At least I can say that the steam made my face red.
Okay, but what the actual-?!
He couldn't get what Hyunwoo said out of his head. He actually said THAT. He was giddy with childish exhilaration. He said something nice about my hair!
His hands unconsciously went to his hair and began tidying up his appearance. Deep down he was questioning why he even bothered trying to look good in front someone who he barely knew.
I can't be....
....can I?
