"I did it. I gave the box to her."
Kihyun texted Hoseok as he walked down the deserted path, his figure illuminated by the streetlights.
Hoseok replied soon enough.
"Thank you. I'll return the favour anytime."
Kihyun smiled to himself and continued strolling into the dark of the night. He stopped when he heard the sound of footsteps approaching him from behind.
It's probably a homeless man out looking for scraps. Fists clenched, he pretended that he didn't hear anything. The footsteps became even more hurried, as though whoever was behind him was trying to catch up.
Kihyun was getting genuinely afraid. It was pretty late at night, and considering the fact that whatever was inside the box wasn't going to be very pleasant, Red could have sent someone after him.
He spun around and to his surprise, he saw Hyunwoo behind him, dragging a luggage behind him. He heaved a sigh of relief and began heading towards Hyunwoo.
"Where are you going at this time of the day?" Kihyun scanned Hyunwoo from head to toe. He wore a white polo shirt and jeans. Hyunwoo rubbed the side of his face wearily. "I'm on night shift today. I'm flying to London."
Kihyun patted Hyunwoo on the arm. "I can accompany you to the airport if you don't mind," Kihyun offered. Hyunwoo placed an arm around Kihyun's shoulders. "I could use a friend now. Thanks, by the way."
They walked in silence until they reached the main road to wait for a cab. "I haven't asked you why you're out this late either. Don't you need to get home?" Hyunwoo asked as they stood by the roadside.
I shouldn't tell him the truth, right?
"I'm still suffering from jet lag and I can't sleep." Kihyun lied. It's not completely a lie, so I guess it's fine. Hyunwoo nodded but the look in his eyes showed that he didn't totally buy Kihyun's story.
He's hiding something.
