Logan:

I had to come to New York to do some work with HPG. Two weeks after I returned to London and Odette I told her that I wasn't going to be able to go through with the marriage. Shitty part was, I came to this final realization during our final tasting for the meal that was supposed to be served. I can still remember it. We were sitting there in one of the restaurants in the Ritz going through that tasting menu of what was supposed to be served during our reception. We were also surrounded by our families.

After I stood up and told her the I couldn't go through with it there was a lot of yelling. But, I just walked out of the room leaving everyone there. I couldn't call Rory, she had already made her decision two weeks prior. So I just left the hotel and walked around for a while. As time passed my family dropped the subject and we started to move on with our lives.

"Mr. Huntzberger? Does that sound alright with you?" I could hear somebody say.

"What? Oh yes, that's fine. We'll draw up the papers and get back to you by the end of the week." I said, returning to the present. We were in the process of aquiring another newspaper and I was here to finalize things. We shook hands and I grabbed my coat. I needed a coffee.

I made my way down the elevator and out to the front of the building. I knew there was a cart not far from here. I stuffed my hands in my pockets and joined the crowds of people the flowed along the sidewalks of New York. I walked down the block and rounded the corner, and as I approched I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing. I stopped dead in my tracks.

Not many women had a bag like that, especially women that looked like that. She wore a wool grey trenchcoat and her hair had grown out again, much like it was at her college graduation. She was just as beautiful as I remembered her being. I was still trying to wrap my head around it, around her, standing there at the coffee cart. Of course though, of all the places I would ever run into her again, it would involve coffee. Rory, there she was. She opened her wallet to get the cash for her coffee and all her change spilled out onto the sidewalk. She shook her head in annoyance starting to pick it up. This was my chance. If I turned and walked away now I would probably never get this chance again. I took a deep breath, walked up and started helping her collect the change.

"Thank you. Sometimes I'm such a klutz--" She started and then stopped.

Her eyes met mine. They were still the same. That bright brilliant blue. Still beautiful. I knew exactly what I was going to say.

"You know, if we didn't already know each other this would definitely count as a cute meet." I said smiling at her.
