Rory:
I told Logan that I would be working at the Gazette but in reality I just didn't want him coming by the house. I didn't want the chance of him seeing his mini, at least not yet. I sat on the couch reviewing the layout for the latest edition of the Stars Hallow Gazette, the poem front and center. After my first edition where I didn't put the poem on the cover I made sure to never make that mistake again. Logan sat on the ground with her crayons and coloring book making "art" as she liked to call it.
I reached out for my water bottle and picked it up to find that it was empty. I set the layout board down and made my way to the kitchen to grab another bottle from the fridge.
"Hey kid! I'm home." Mom said as she walked through the door.
"In the kitchen." I said closing the door and walking back out to the living room.
"Hey Granddaughter." She said giving her a kiss on the head.
"Hi Grandma." Logan said, continuing to color.
"Are you making me a pretty picture?" Mom asked her.
"How's Luke doing?" I asked.
"He's good. Busy as usual. He's a saint for continuing burger Tuesday at the Dragonfly." She said.
"Yep. He sure does love you." I said smiling.
"He does, doesn't he." She said smiling back. "So when do you meet up with you know who?" She asked, trying not to say his name.
"Not for another fourty-five minutes. Plus he said he'd call when he wa getting close and he hasn't called yet, so I should still be good on time." I replied picking back up the layout board.
"Okay. Well I'll be here with the little one." She said with a wink. "I'm gonna go upstairs for a bit right now though before you go."
"Okay no problem. I think I'm gonna freashen up before I head out to. Just so I don't look like a complete mess. You gonna be okay here sweetie?" I asked looking down at Logan.
"Yes Mommy." She said.
"Okay then." I said and made my way back to my room, while mom made her way up the stairs.
I had been saving up to get my own place because this little room seemed to get smaller and smaller the more Logan grew. If I got this new job I would definetly be able to afford our own place, and we would need to get a place closer or I would somehow need to make the commute back and forth. I wasn't sure how it would all work out yet. I definetly didn't want a stranger watching my daughter, especially with everything you read on the internet about horrible things happening when little kids are left with sitters or nanny's.
I took my hairtie out and brush my hair. Then I applied just a touch of lip gloss before starting to head back out so I could grab my stuff and head back to the Gazette to drop the layout off, and then head to Weston's. However, before I rounded the corner I heard something I was afraid to admit to myself before I saw it. Logan had opened the front door, and there he was.
"Who are you?" My daughter said cocking her head to the side, looking directly at none other then her father.
