Logan:
"Logan!" My little girl said as she ran up and gave me a hug.
"Hey there. How are you?" I asked her.
"Good. Mommy told me that you were coming." She said as Rory came into view.
Not much time had passed but I felt better now that she was close. She looked happy.
"Logan." She said.
"Ace." I replied and I heard a little chuckle come from below.
"Why do you call mommy that? It's funny." Logan said.
"Well it's just something I've always called her." I replied.
"Can we all move into the house now?" Lorelei said from the doorway.
"Oh, yeah. Sorry about that." I said as I moved out of the way.

Rory:
I shot mom a warning look. She needed to back off and give Logan a break. If I would have told him he would have been here from day one, I know that now. I watched Logan interact with our daughter, how good he did with her.
"How about we all go into the kitchen and see what Luke brought." I said. Turning and making my way back into the kitchen.
"Let's follow your mommy. Are you hungry?" Logan asked our little girl.
"Oh yeah! I always want to eat whatever Grandpa brings home!" Logan said grabbing her daddys hand and leading him down the hallway.
We walked into the kitchen and Luke set the box of food on top of the stove and mom put the pies in the freezer. Mom didnt have much to say which was rare, but I did see her cast glances at Logan, and they were exactly friendly.
"Mom. Can I see you upstairs for a minute." I said, walking back out of the kitchen.
I could hear her feet shuffling behind me as I rounded the staircase and started up the stairs to her room. It wasn't until we were behind a closed door that I spoke.
"Okay. What's wrong with you?" I asked, throwing my hands in the air.
"Who me?" she asked, feigning shock.
"Cut the crap mom." I said, trying hard to not raise my voice. Last thing I needed was for Little Logan to hear something she wasn't supposed to. "You were just fine with me going to meet Logan for dinner the other night, now your back to hating him, giving him the death stare when you think nobody is looking?" I said. My voice raise another notch.
"Okay you know what. Fine. Dinner, yes, I was fine with that. But stay the night? What do you think your doing Rory? Logan comes back into your life and--" She was saying, but I cut her off.
"And what mom!" I yelled. "I told you, nothing happened. Even though, if something did it wouldn't be any of your business anyway. Or did you forget, I'm a grown woman!"
"Yes! You are a grown woman. A grown woman who isn't making the best decisions. But really when it comes to Logan you've never really made the best decisions have you?" She said, making me stop.
"Really?" I said, afraid if I moved right then I'd make a huge mistake. "So what does that say about that little girl down there?"
Mom stopped. "Now you know that's not what I meant." She said.
"Really because shes a product of one of our not so smart decisions." I said.
"I don't see how you could even say something like that Rory." Mom said, rubbing her temple.
"You need to understand something mom. Right here, right now. I wasn't expecting, or waiting for this moment to happen. I was content raising my daughter by myself, just like you did with me. I went to an interview--" I started.
"I know but--" she started but I raised my hand.
"I'm not done." I said before continuing. "I went to an interview. One that I've waited forever to get too, and Logan happened. Now we're here. He wants to be in his daughters life."
"I just--" She started again.
"Still not done. If he wants to be in her life, I'm fine with that. And we have a plan in place which is what dinner was for, and it was to late to drive back so I stayed in the extra room. And mom, you need to be okay with this. He's her father and he has this right. I've already taken to much time from him. Now I'm finished." I said.
"Okay. I'm just worried that the same thing that happened with you and your dad will happen with them. I don't want to see her hurt." Mom said.
I understood that. Me and my dad had a back and forth relationship. One that had become strained at times, and he wasn't exactly involved in Logans life either. He would pop in still at times but that was about it.
"I get that. But mom, Logan is not dad. Yes, there may be similarities. But they aren't the same person." I said, sitting on the bed.
"He's going back to London tomorrow." She said sitting next to me.
"Yes. But its not like he was planning on all of this happening. He has to go back." I said.
"Okay. He has to go back then." She repeated.
"And that's why we aren't saying anything yet. Okay?" I asked her.
"Okay. I won't say anything either. Scouts honor." She said, raising her hand.
"You were never a girl scout." I said with a laugh.
"How would you know?" She shot back.
"Trust me, I would have found out by now." I said. "Now, can you be civil when we go back down there."
"I guess." She said with one last roll of her eyes. "For the sake of my granddaughter."
"Thank you. Well, I guess we should head back down there." I said, standing up.
"Hey! Anybody home!" I heard a deeper voice call into the house.
"Who's that?" I asked turning to mom.
"Oh, did I forget to mention Jess is in town and Luke invited him to join us for dinner." She said, as she raised her arms to protect herself.
"Your kidding right?" I said dropping my head in my hands.
"Sorry. At least I got lots of pie!" She said.
Great, we were just about to enter the third inning.
