Logan:
My phone started going off in my pocket so I pulled it out and it read "incoming call, Ace". It put a smile on my face watching her nick-name light up my screen. We had been playing phone tag too long, I hit the answer button as I walked into the other room."Hey you." I said into the receiver. It was quiet for a moment before I heard anything. But I knew she was there. I could hear her breathing on the other end of the line.
"Hey Logan." She finally said and I could hear what I though was a possible smiling in her voice. It was amazing to hear her voice again.
"It's been a while. How have you been?" I asked. It was already early tomorrow for her back home.
"It's been alright. Hey, I'm sorry about what my mom did. She doesn't see it, but sometimes she acts just like Emily. But don't tell her I said that." She said with a small chuckle.
"My lips are sealed." I responded. Do I tell her what the guys are planning?
"So, Logan, I actually did call for a reason..." She said, pulling me back from my thoughts.
"Oh? Is everything okay?" I asked. She had walked away from my so many times before that it was constantly lurking in the back of my mind. I was always on the edge of my chair when she called. It was like I was waiting for her to bolt. After all, we weren't actually together. She could bolt at any point though really.
"Yeah. Everything is fine. I was just calling to see if you had any plans to come sooner then Christmas." She asked.
I was shocked. She wanted me to come back sooner. Of course I would go back to the Hollow sooner. If it meant I would get to see her I would go anywhere. But, I had to play it cool. "Sooner?"
"Yeah. It's just our daughter has been talking nonstop about the next time sh. The door e get's to see you." She replied. Our daughter. That's the first time she has ever said it out loud. I couldn't help but smile.
"Well I do have a pretty packed schedule --" I started but she cut me off.
"Oh that's not a problem. I just thought I would let you know." She said. But there was a difference in her tone. The guys had the right idea with a surprise. "I gotta go. Logan wants to make cupcakes, but Luke's at the diner and I can't leave mom to handle this. They would just turn into ponds of batter."
"Okay then. Well thanks for calling." I said. "I am glad our game of phone tag is officially over."
"Here, here." She said with a laugh and then she was gone.
Plan "surprise ace" was a go.
Rory:
I sat there cross legged on the bed. Logan was asleep but I just wanted an excuse to get off the phone. Of course he was busy, I understood that. But at the same time it sucked. It would have been great if he could have come sooner.
I looked down at Logan sleeping on the trundle bed bought so many years ago. It was like a piece that time forgot. Mom and Christopher didn't last long enough for people to even bother remembering but the trundle bed remained. I leaned back into my pillows and let me head fall back so I was looking up at the ceiling. What was I feeling? I didn't need to get into anything right now. I had to much to worry about. But we just fit so well. We always did. It might not have been easy all the time but no real relationship was ever easy. Right? I closed my eyes and let myself drift.

I was surrounded by white, and it stretched on for what seemed like forever. It was like a hallway, doors on either side beckoning me to walk through then. I started walking. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Then all of a sudden a door form at the end. The door was different from the rest. A navy blue door sat at the end of the hall and I went for it. What was behind it? Why was it different from the rest? I reached for the handle and opened it...

"Mommy, mommy, mommy!" Logan said waking me up. I had barely realized that I had fallen asleep.
"Hey." I said with a yawn. "What time is it?"
"It's almost one!" Mom said poking her head around the door.
"Oh man. I didn't even realize I feel asleep." I said rubbing my face as Logan curled up next to me.
"Yeah I figured you needed your sleep after the all nighter you pulled. Not as spry as you used to be. Huh?" She said with a grin.
"Not at all." I replied. I kissed the top of Logan's head an climbed off the bed. "But it had to be done."
"Work, work, work. When is it going to be time for play?" She asked as I grabbed a pop-tart out of the box on the table.
"Hey I'm fun." I said.
"Yeah mommy is fun grandma!" Logan chimed in bouncing up to the table, and I handed her the other pop-tart.
"Okay. Well if the three year old says so it must be true." She said laughing. "Did you sleep okay?"
"Eh. It was fine. Little strange." I said.
"Oh. How so?" She asked."
"You know, I don't really know how to describe it. I was walking down this endless hallway and then a door appeared. But when I went to walk through it I woke up." I said.
"Ah! Cliff hanger! Shoot!" She said slapping the table.
"Yeah. No idea what it means. But, I'm not going to read to much into it." I said. "I need to head to Dosey's." I finished getting up.
"Oh can we get ice cream mommy!" Logan exclaimed.
"We can stop and share a scoop. Go put on your shoes." I said.
"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!" She squealed as she went to get her shoes on.
"Okay can you pick some stuff up for me while your there?" Mom asked.
"Sure." I replied.
"Thanks. Here's the list." She said and handed it to me.
"We'll be back later." I told her then I went into the other room, helped Logan into her coat, and we were off.
