Adira woke up at four o'clock the next morning to train. The manor was quite scary at that time in the morning and with the hair that stood erect on her arms, she couldn't help but feel that someone was watching her from the cruel shadows. The tingling sensations of her instinct saying someone was also there bothered the living daylights out of her but she never searched the dark hallways.
He was watching her, he was intrigued and shocked at the same time. What was she doing up so early in the morning?
He followed her to the training room and watched her from the shadows. Nobody except himself trained that early in the morning. It looked like a routine for her. When she started combat skills on her own he officially became impressed. She had fight in her, he liked that.
During the time of proposal and organization of their arrival he thought she was just a spoiled brat who got life handed to her on a silver platter.
He was wrong, all life gave her was a sliver of happiness that came from her family, everything else had failed her, given her a false sense of hope. Hope of freedom.
As she trained he could see the muscular contours of her body that indicated she trained hard enough but then he saw thick, fleshy parts that, had she been a few years older, would make it acceptable to look at her like he was sinfully doing right now.
He was still in the shadows, watching her every move. Analyzing, processing, understanding. She was a book that desperately needed to be read.
"I know you are watching me so come out of the shadows and state what it is you require from me." She made sure her voice was as icy and threatening as possible.
He froze in a state of partial surprise before moving further into the shadows. She had quite a mouth on her.
"You are observant, I see." Adira now listened in to his deep voice that echoed throughout the training room.
"Why have you followed me? Is there some sort of fascination you have with me?" She asked out into the darkness. He was on the opposite side of the room by now and she was looking in the wrong direction.
She listened to the air trying to pick up any sounds to pin point exactly where he was. "You are different, for the rest of the Lords their advisors are significantly younger than them. You look to be the same or even older than your brother, explain to me how so?"
His warm breath hit her neck and the air around her felt warmer with his invading presence. She never felt a warmth like this, his body heat ensnared her and she was left feeling flustered with his close proximity.
"I don't need to explain, you've already guessed haven't you? Tell me what you think." He replied coldly.
"Twins, fraternal. He was born minutes before you and that's how he got the title. You two are so different however." Though there faces looked similar they were polar opposites. One was happy and light and the other was dark and mysterious.
"You are the first to figure it out. Congratulations." Immediately the warmth she felt was gone and she immediately turned around to see him looking at her with dark eyes. His face was heavenly, perfectly sculpted like the rest of his body. Dark tendrils of loose, curly hair flowed onto his forehead, shadowing his dark eyes which he narrowed at her and she did the same.
She was pretty sure all he ever wore was something dark, his aura called for it. He looked so unreal to her, it was as if dark clouds enshrouded his entire body dragging his soul-sucking personality with it.
He turned around and disintegrated back into the shadows and then he was gone like he was never there.
