While Adira was out cold another pair of footsteps creeped up on the two. Lucas continuously tried to shake Adira awake but nothing worked. With the whole ordeal of the fight and Adira's loss of consciousness, another pair of eyes stood from a distance to watch. Now that the agent was presumably unconscious or possibly dead he took his chance to make his move.

There are just somethings you never forget, one thing is that there is always darkness, and it always watches.

"Lucas, give her to me." Kalmin says standing five feet away from where the two are on the ground.

Lucas looks up and glares at Kalmin as he hugs Adira closer, "What?"

"Give her to me."

"Why?" He says looking up with furrowed eyebrows.

"Because I am her protector from England to Canada to Italy." He grinds out.

"You didn't do a very good job at that if you must know." Lucas said gesturing towards the unconscious girl.

"Like you did." Kalmin snares.

"I did in fact, exactly which is why I will be carrying her and taking care of her."

"This is childish, give her to me Lucas. That is the last time I will say that." Anger sounds out in growled words.

Lucas payed no mind and picked Adira up. Kalmin watched on rather disgruntled with Lucas's lack of heed to his command, but then again he was in no authority to command anything of a Lord. The two men walked side by side on the way back to the manner, each trying to posture themselves in a threatening, authoritative manner.

Upon reaching the manor they went straight for the infirmary where they found the doctor, who was sworn to secrecy never to tell anyone about anything that happens inside the household.

Testing her blood he was able to find that it was something used to knock out anybody for a few hours not harmful or deadly. They were both relieved. Which meant they never left. They refused to leave the room as they both wanted to stay and watch Adira recover. Both men sat on opposite sides of the room watching her rest.

Kalmin with his hands folded across his chest sunk into the chair more, tapping his feet wildly yet harmoniously on the white tiled floor. Lucas glared at him continuously, thinking up all the comebacks, comments and dis-likable traits that Kalmin possessed.

"You understand why I didn't want to give her to you right? I was there to protect her in that forest, not you."

Movement of his foot tapping ceased, slowly he looked up at Lucas through hooded eyes. Lucas continued to glare while Kalmin simply reciprocated his actions. Sitting straighter he cracked his neck with one smooth rotation, each bone cracked after the other in a chilling melody that played a little too slowly.

"How did she end up roaming the bloody forest in the first place?" He snared.

"That was my time with her. There was nothing else to do and I am almost positive she didn't want to see you." Lucas replied in a whispered-shout.

Kalmin's facade of calm never faltered, ever but something about what Lucas said to him didn't sit right. He flexed his fists, hearing the knuckles crack and relax before he stood up swiftly and charged towards Lucas.

Bunching his shirt in his fists the two men were extremely close, glaring at each other. Like wild beasts ready to fight, in their own possessive mess.

"You're brave Kalmin, so show me your hard lesson in retribution. Hit me."

In that moment, like God's shining miracle, Adira woke up in her confused and blurred mind she barely saw the two men standing in a vicious position.

"What's going on?" She coughed violently from the parched feeling of her throat. Turning to her Kalmin walked to her side and stared at her not able to say anything.

By that time he felt Lucas reach out and hand her some water to soothe the dryness. Gulping it down she took tentative breaths and breathed in deeply before exhaling.

"Thank you Lucas, I really needed that." She said and watched as Kalmin exhaled a shallow breath himself. His brows knotted together as he squeezed his eyes shut. Adira observed this peculiar reaction from him, studying and analyzing.

However, this was a change for Kalmin, it was a huge change. Emotion was not something he experienced often, very rarely actually but that was before he met Adira. The darkness didn't only see black, but red then green.
