The big day

I woke up at around two in the morning and couldn't get back to sleep. I would find my mate today! I couldn't sleep knowing this, I just wanting to run outside now and run about screaming wih my arms in the air.

I decided to go through my old photo album, look back at all my happiest memories to calm my nerves. Most of them were of me and the girls, but just as I was opening the book one fell out that caught my eye.

I knew who it was instantly. My father. I don't know why his photo was in there. I hate him.

Picking up the piece of paper, I went outside and started walking towards the lake. On my way I picked up a small pebble which I wrapped the picture around. It was a cold morning and I was only in my pajamas, my feet bare, but I had worse pain to deal with.

I took a few steps into the lake, and it started to spit rain. Suddenly there was a down poor and I was soaked to my bones. I looked once more at the stone in my right hand before throwing it as far out into the lake as I could. Good riddance.

I stayed like that for a long time in the rain, up to my ankles in water, looking generally into nothing. I hadn't noticed when he crept up behind me.

"Good morning little lady," he whispered into my left ear.

I jumped, tripping over my own feet and falling. Only Kierin says stuff like little lady to me, it was strange hearing someone else say it. Right before I hit the water he grabbed my arm. I looked up and saw Evad.

"Why were you just standing in the lake at 3 in the morning?" Woah, I've been here for ages.

"No reason." He looked at me, I couldn't really tell what emotions were in his eyes, but he hadn't helped me up yet. I steadied my feet underneath me and pulled his arms off of mine. It was still raining and I needed to get back.

"I need to go.. See ya I guess."

"Yeah.." He murmured as I stepped around him and walked back into the woods.

"Wait!" He called out, causing me to stop before I had even gone.

"Take my coat, incase you get cold."

"Okay.. Thanks." I gave him a smile at hs kind gesture before finally leaving.

I got back to my room around 3.26 which gave me time to shower before the girls came. I left his jacket down on the chair by my desk and went to get some fresh clothes from my chest of drawers. I picked out a hoody and shorts as well as some under garments since I would changing into my birthday clothes soon. I wanted to keep them as fresh as possible for later.

The hot water soothed my tense muscles as I let all the memories wash away. I don't even know how the photo got in there, everyone knew how I felt about him. Ugh.

My friends arrived shortly after I got out and dressed me up in my clothes. Unlike some girls, we all appreciated hoodies and flat shoes. No need to be uncomfortable on my day, I'm not living it for anyone else.

I slipped into the shorts and hoody chosen and then they did my hair. I have to admit they were doing a great job. I pulled the beanie onto my head before Jasminea did my makeup. I looked really pretty, with smoky eyes and bright red lips. My freckles were covered a bit by my bluch to make my skin look one tone.

It was only six thirty when I was ready, so we all took photos and when the rain eased up went into the woods to hang. I told them what happened this morning with the photo, but I didn't tell them about Evad.

"Well, none of us put the photo there," Shani told me, the others nodding in reply.

"I just don't know how it could of gotten there," I told them, "My family and you guys know I hate him."
