5 am seemed to be the time of distress for the twins.
a time of tears.
more than often it was grayson who was caught crying, but this time, it was ethan.
the one who had been so strong. the one who was meant to wipe tears, not create them.
grayson was at loss. he had no clue what to do with the boy before him who had been sobbing for over an hour.
"ethan-" sobs. "i don't know what to d-" more sobs.
large hands cupped the older brothers face, wiping his tears just like ethan had done to grayson.
"stop the fuss, ethan. you know more than any of us that this won't make you heal if you don't talk to me"
but ethan couldn't bring himself to form a proper sentence.
the shaking, the tears, they were all to much. they overpowered the words that needed to come out.
"stay strong through your pain, grow flowers from it. you have helped me grow flowers out of mine so bloom beautifully, dangerously, loudly, bloom softly, however you need. just bloom" the youngest spoke, his warm hands still laying on his brother's cheeks.
and for the first time that night ethan stopped crying. his eyes searched graysons and adored the loving look he was receiving from his little brother. his beautiful, little brother.
then, lips were on lips.
graysons became warm with ethans covering his and he loved it. he loved the boy he shared the kiss with.
in that moment he loved everything.
he loved the times he woke up crying just for ethan to comfort him after a nightmare. he loved feeling his brothers strong arms wrapped around his torso as he slept.
he loved it all.
he loved 5 am.
