ethan bit his lip, listening to the gym coach explain their assignment.

the class was instructed to run continuous laps around the track, and ethan knew that was a bad idea. he had asthma and could barely walk across campus without getting an attack.

"when i blow my whistle, you guys start" the coach shouted as the class lined up on the 'start' mark.

grayson dolan, ethans best friend, glanced over at his friend, knowing about his asthma.

ethan gave him a reassuring smile, letting him know he was fine.

the younger boy sent him a soft nod before the sound of the whistle was heard, sending all the students running.

three minutes in and ethan was already wheezing, digging in the back pocket of his gym shorts for his inhaler, frowning once he realized it wasn't there.

his steady running pace slowed as breathing became a harder task for him, and of course grayson noticed.

"ethan?! where's your inhaler?!" the caramel haired boy ran over to his friend, grabbing his shoulders.

ethan stayed silent, trying to focus on his breathing.

"coach!" grayson yelled, keeping his eyes locked onto ethans, "we need his inhaler!"

the coach quickly ran over with it in his hand, "here, here!"

grayson held it up to ethans mouth, pushing the trigger. ethan breathed it in, his breathing slowly becoming normal.

"t- thanks, gray" ethan mumbled, feeling embarrassed, "of course, e" the younger boy smiled fondly at his friend.

wtf is this? idk.. and it's really short / unedited.
