My ceiling in my bedroom has been the most exciting spectacle that I have seen for the past few days. Since my car is still at the pack house, I texted mom and told her I was sleeping at Lexi's. That way she won't be looking for me in the house and I can be alone and in peace. I don't want to be questioned right now.

Since that night I haven't done much of anything. I go to the bathroom on occasion, making sure Mom and Will are are out of the house or gone for work when I go. I just want to be alone. I don't want to think, I don't even want to be here anymore.

To my surprise Lexi has only called me three times. Jayden on the other hand has been calling me almost non stop. I don't know why he wants to talk to me so badly? Actually now that I think about it, he probably wants to return my car keys. I will have to pick them up at some point. Maybe Lexi can do it for me.

I haven't eaten in two days. I don't feel hungry but I need to eat. Since mom and Will are at work, now is probably the best time to grab some food.

I slowly get off my bed and remove the chair from under the door handle. I unlock the door and make my way to the kitchen.

I search the cabinets for something light and that goes down easy. There really isn't anything, so then I check the fridge. I see yogurt and I decide that's my best bet. I pull out it out of the fridge and grab a spoon.

I peel off the lid and dig in. It tastes bland, like nothing. At least it goes down easy enough. I dig my spoon in again and go for another bite. I still taste nothing. Well this is getting old fast.

I cap the yogurt and throw it back into the fridge and toss my spoon inside the dish washer. I hear a knock on the door.

That's probably the mailman delivering a package. I walk to the front door and open it up wide. I pause.

Not who I was expecting.

"Sophia." his voice is sweet, and my body finally reacts to something. I just wish it didn't.

"Do you have my keys?" I ask.

Jayden digs into his pocket and pulls out my keys handing them to me. Well glad that is done and over with. I go to shut the door.

A huge hand collides with my door, preventing me from closing it. I'm too weak to fight back. I give up and look up into his eyes. Big mistake girl, turn away!

But I can't. His emerald eyes have captured my own brown ones. I'm lost in them. For the first time in a few days, my heart starts to beat rapidly. I feel my cheeks flush a light pink. Oh man... This is not what I wanted. After finally taking one step forward in my life, this just set me back eight steps.

He pushes the door open and welcomes himself into my home. Yeah, that's fine, come on in buddy...

"Sophia we need to talk. That was nothing at all what it looked like."

I just stare at him. He thinks I'm dumb! I don't think he realizes I'm not mad at him. Maybe I should explain.

"I'm not mad at you Jayden." I say.

He looks at me shocked for a moment, "Wait, you're not?"

"No. You're doing what you have to do to become Alpha. It runs in your blood. I don't want to be the one to hold you back. Plus, it's not like we could ever mate anyway. We have too many differences. The fates made a mistake big time with us."

He stares at me. I'm not really sure what he is feeling. He is doing a good job masking it.

"Do you really think that?" He asks, his face growing serious and cold. The way he used to look at me when he didn't accept me as a mate. It's unsettling to say the least. I feel my heart ache at the thought of him going back to being the person he was before. Treating me like I don't exist again.
