Opening my eyes, everything seems so clear and bright. And the pain that I had before is gone completely. Blinking I try to stand but can't. Why won't my arms work right? I look down and notice two fluffy brown paws . Whoa, whoa, whoa. Since when do I have paws?

I look to the left then to the right and notice I'm fully surrounded by woods. Memories of last night flood into my head and I whimper. Well if Jayden honestly doesn't want to be with me, I finally got the point from last night. After that little show I got, I don't even want him as my mate anymore. According to mom we were supposed to share something special, but he basically cheated on me with Ashley. Well Jayden, your point was taken clearly and I won't try anymore. Someday he is going to regret not choosing me, and I think I know the perfect way. Oh Jayden Renalds you sure have it in for you now.

Trying to stand up one more time I manage to figure out the whole four paw thing. It is actually pretty easy once you know what you are doing. Sticking my snout in the air I take a big whiff, from a distance I can smell a river. Well I am thirsty, and it's okay to drink river water now that I'm a wolf right? I start to trot in the direction of the water and slowly gain speed, eventually I take off and run full force, the feeling is absolutely amazing. The wind running through my fur and my paws digging into the soft dirt. I feel so free! I can smell the water now so I slow down and come to a stop in front of the river. I walk over and bend down to take a lick of the water. Then I see my reflection.

I'm beautiful, my fur is a glossy milk chocolate color except for all four paws and one tip of my ear which are all dark brown. My wolf isn't huge but she isn't small either. I could definitely take another wolf in a fight if it came down to it.

Oh no. I forgot about mom! I must have been out all night too because it's daytime now. She is going to kill me. How am I supposed to find my way home? Oh, wait. I'm a wolf, duh. I can easily sniff my way back home and follow the trail I had made coming to the river.

I finally make it to the edge of the woods and then it hits me. I'm stuck like this, and I have no way of knowing how to change back. No point in dwelling on that now. I need to focus on getting back to the mansion.

I'm going to have to travel through the woods to get home. I start running at full speed. I decide to follow the edge of the woods all the way to my house, making sure not to be seen by any pedestrians.

I make it home and I run up to the back door and realize I don't know how to tell mom I'm home... I mean I can bark right? Let me try that.

I let out the best bark I can muster and surprisingly it was pretty loud for my first try, but no one comes to the door. Hmm, oh I know! Wolves howl all the time, I've got this. I lift my head up high and release a howl from deep within my throat. Two minutes later mom comes to the door and tilts her head at me, "Hey little guy, are you lost?"

I blink my eyes at her, does she really not know it's me?

"Do you not know how to change back to human form?" I shake my head and she turns so that way she can easily yell into the house, "Will, honey come here!"

"What is it dear," He asks as he approaches the back door. Honestly how do they not know it's me, who else would show up on their back steps and howl? "Oh hey little fella."

"I don't think he knows how to change back, so why don't you grab a big t-shirt and we will tell him how to change." Mom demands and waves her hand at Will, ushering him to grab a big T-shirt. He returns with a black T-shirt and puts it on me while I'm still in wolf form.

"Okay sweetie now relax and just think of yourself in human form."

I do exactly as I'm told and I feel quick snaps of my bones. It's slightly painful but not nearly as bad as the pain from last night. I open my eyes to see my mom and Will staring at me in amazement.

"Oh my! Sofia it was you! You're a wolf! How did that happen?" My mom asks, completely shocked at the sight before her.

I stand up and say "I don't really know how this happened, but I know I ended up changing in the woods last night. I'm really sorry I didn't call, I blacked out and didn't end up waking until this morning..."

Tears gather in my mom's eyes as she hugs me, "Oh Sofia I'm so happy that you're alright and that you're a wolf! I guess you were just a late bloomer but that's fine! We need to get you inducted into the Hollow Moon Pack as soon as possible. Wolves aren't allowed on another pack's property unless the Alpha says it's alright. And right now since you have no pack you are technically a rogue, but I'm sure the Alpha won't mind too much considering he is Will's cousin." She grabs my face between her two hands and squeezes my cheeks together, "I'm going to go call now, you should go get showered and ready for the day, maybe even take a nap. I know how exhausting first changes are so it would be in your best interest to sleep after you shower, but it is completely up to you!" She kisses me on the forehead then sends me up the stairs without letting me say a word.

I grab a t-shirt, sweat pants, and underwear to wear when I'm done with my shower. I enter the bathroom and look at myself in the mirror. Whoa, I'm different? My hair got slightly longer and more glossy, while my brown eyes look brighter compared to their usual dark chocolate color. Also my face just seems to radiate more beauty than it did before.

I hop in the shower and just enjoy the sensation of hot water running down my body. My senses are all heightened from my recent bonding with my wolf side, making this experience ten times better.

After a nice relaxing shower I quickly get into my clothing and jump into my bed, as soon as I hit the pillow exhaustion clouds my vision. The last thing to pop into my head is how I can't wait to go to school Monday and show Jayden what exactly he is missing out on.
