I tuck a loose piece of hair behind my ear and let out a relieved sigh. Finally, I'm done preparing myself for school. Honestly if guys knew how long it took us to ready ourselves for the day, I think they would appreciate us more. In all seriousness, I've been standing at my bathroom counter for over 40 minutes just doing my hair and make up! Deciding that I wanted to curl my brown hair instead of letting it go natural was the main reason as to why my preparation took so long. I never do my hair and this is why.

Okay I'm finally ready to face my new school. I'm wearing a brand new baby blue dress with a brown belt as an accessory. I'm also wearing my nice cowboy boots that I brought from home, and my hair and make up look decent for once. I'm actually exited to meet new people today!

Rushing out my room and down the stairs, I run into the kitchen and snatch the egg sandwich my mom just made and start eating it. "Looks like someone's hungry!" My mom says, and I hear Will laugh from behind me.

Swallowing my huge bite I reply, "Of course I'm hungry! It's a big day for me, and you know that I eat when I'm nervous!"

"Well I think I know something that will make you a little less nervous." Will says and he comes up and stands next to me at the island.

"And what would that be?" I question him, then take the last bite of my sandwich and put my dish away.

"Here catch" I turn around from the dishwasher just in time to catch the shiny object that Will threw at me. Keys? Why did he throw me his keys?

"Will, your letting me borrow your car to drive to school?" I asked slightly confused.

"No Sofia, it is all yours." He winks.

I can't help the smile that crosses over my face. Squealing like a little girl, I run over to Will and embrace him in the biggest hug. "You are the best step-dad in the whole world!"

A deep rumble comes from Will's chest as he says, "Enjoy your first day Sofia, now you better hurry up before you're late!" He unwraps my arms from around him, turns me around and gives me a slight push of encouragement. I look back at him giving him a huge smile then I head toward the door.

Grabbing my backpack off of the stool, I turn around and thank him one last time before heading out to my new car. Looking at the car I am dumbfounded, I can't believe this! He got me a brand new 2013 red Ferrari convertible, man how rich is Will exactly? Smiling to myself, I get in the car, on the seat I notice there are printed out directions on how to get to the school that my mom or Will must have printed out for me. Placing the key in the ignition, I bring the engine to life with ease and put the car in reverse and pull out of the driveway.

Blue Hill High, here I come.

---

Woah. This school is huge. I thought that coming to live in Maine would mean a small school with lesser people than before. Boy was I wrong. There are so many kids everywhere!

Taking a closer look I notice something else more intimidating, everyone is drop-dead-gorgeous. This is a joke right? How can I fit in with a whole bunch of movie stars. I guess my feeling that I had about easily fitting in was completely wrong, these people are beautiful.

I shrink into the seat of my Ferrari, wishing that I was prettier so that I could have more confidence.

No. Wait, I can do this. I just need to put on a brave face, act confident and walk with pride. Even if all these girls are so much prettier than I am, I can't act intimidated or they will treat me me like the underdog. Gathering up all my courage I take a deep breathe. Here goes nothing.

Opening my door, I walk into the school and head toward the office. Entering the room I see a short plumb women with short black hair who I assume is the secretary. She is on the phone but looks up and spots me, she says bye to the person on the other line then proceeds to hang up the phone. "You must be Sofia Hail." She says smiling to me as she scrounges up some papers from the huge pile on her desk.

"That would be me." I say sweetly. She looks up and hands me two papers.

"This first paper here is your schedule, it has the course, room number, and the teachers name for each class you have. The second paper here," She flips to the second paper and then points at it, "is a map of the school, it is to help you get around, many of our new students tend to get lost so be careful! Maybe you would be better off to have a guide with you?" she asks.

"No it's fi-" I'm cut off by a girl opening the door of the principals office.

"Have a good day Mr. Wilson!" she says cheerfully, then she turns and sees me and the secretary standing at the front desk. The secretary smiles widely.

"Alexandra perfect timing, could you come over here please?" The secretary asks the girl.

Smiling the girl prances over to us. Getting a closer look at the girl I notice that she is exceptionally beautiful, she has gorgeous blond locks and really pretty green eyes. She is the exact opposite of me, I'm so plain and she is so extravagant. "What can I do for you Mrs. Marten?" she politely responds.

"Would it be too much to ask to have you show Sofia around and get her to her first class?" Mrs. Marten asks.

"I would be glad to help a fellow student," she smiles and turns to me sticking out her hand and roughly grabbing mine in a hand shake. "I'm Alexandra Garcia, but you can just call me Lexi."

I smile graciously at her, shaking her hand back with equal amount of force. "I'm Sofia Hail, you can call me Soph or Sofie, which ever you like is fine." She giggles.

"Sounds good to me, now let's see what you have on your schedule." Grabbing the paper from my hand she looks and says "Damn girl, your pretty smart if your taking three AP classes. Well at least you have art and physics as classes too, to give you a break from all that work." She looks up at me.

"Yeah my step-dad kind of chose my classes for me, I just moved in a week ago so I didn't have time to handle the school situation..."

She laughs "Don't worry you will be fine, AP isn't too much harder then honors, and The AP students don't bite, it's the academic kids you need to worry about." she giggles at her joke and I laugh along with her. Then she continues, "Anyway, your first class is physics and that is this way, just follow me."

We head down a long hallway and as we pass by, people are constantly greeting Lexi. She must be really popular here because everyone seems to know her and are friendly with her. I notice everyone is also staring at me as I walk next to her. I know they are looking down at me because I don't fit in right next to someone so movie-star-like but I try to keep my confidence up and continue to walk on.

We arrive at a classroom door to what I'm assuming is the physic's room, and Lexi turns to look at me, "Here we are, this is physics. Unfortunately we don't have this block together but we have next block together, so I will come by and pick you up after this block okay?" She asks.

"That would be nice thank you, sorry for being the annoying new girl. And I'm sorry for stopping you from hanging out with all your friends to help me get around the school..." I give her a sheepish smile.

"Are you kidding? You seem great, I'm really happy that I was able to meet you! You seem much more down to earth than all the fake slutty girls we have wondering around these halls." she makes a circling gesture with her hand to show off the hallway, "I have a feeling we will become close friends Sofie, I will see you next block! Have fun in physics!" She waves and starts to walk away.

"Thanks I will try" I giggle and wave to my new friend. I hope she is right and that we become close. I really need a person that I can talk to and depend on since I don't know anyone around here.

I turn and walk into the physics classroom and I can't believe what I see.
