chapter fifty two

Janina's pov: location ~ Dallas, Texas

"Zach should be here any second." Myta said as we waited at the baggage claim for him.

My flight had come in earlier in the day, so I spent most of the day with Zach's whole family. Which was honestly a lot of fun. Reese and me have grown a special bond with each other and I absolutely adore her with all my heart. She is so precious and deserves the world.

"I can't wait to see him!" Reese exclaimed.

I smiled down at her and squeezed her hand since we were holding hands. I could tell she was really excited to see her eldest brother, who she hasn't see in a few weeks. I am definitely just as excited, even though I had just seen him two days ago.

"Me too." I replied.

I looked up at the escalator and saw Zach, but I noticed him talking to a girl. My smile fell as I saw them laughing together.

"I'm sure she's just a friend he met on his flight." Myta said as she squeezed my shoulder to reassure me.

I gave a small smile and nodded, knowing that Zach liked to get to know people if he was gonna be with them for a long period of time. Zach and the girl both walked up to us with smiles on their faces. I quickly put a fake smile on my face and tried not to overthink anything. Zach hugged his mom.

"Are you gonna introduce us to your new friend?" Myta asked Zach as she pulled away from their hug.

"Oh yeah, of course." Zach replied.

He motioned for the girl to walk closer to him.

"Everyone this is Kaylie, I just met her on the flight." He said smiling.

"Nice to meet you all, Zach has told me so much about all of you." The girl said.

"It's nice meeting you too." Myta said politely.

"Hi I'm Janina, Zach's girlfriend." I said extending my hand out for her to shake it.

Kaylie shook my hand.

"Zach talked about you a lot during the flight." Kaylie said chuckling.

"He was right, when he said you were really pretty." She added.

I blushed and started to feel like I didn't need to worry since Kaylie seemed to be really nice.

"Thanks." I said.

*time skip to a day later*

Zach's dad and Myta left to go on a date together so now it's just Zach, Ryan, Reese and me all at the Herron's house together.

"Janina, can we please go get some ice cream." Reese begged.

I smiled and nodded.

"Of course, go get Ryan and I'll ask Zach if he wants to come with." I said.

Reese smiled widely then ran off to find her older brother. I chuckled at how excited she seemed before walking upstairs to Zach's room. I walked in and saw Zach sitting on his bed while smiling down at his phone. I ignored it, figuring he was just talking to the boys.

"Hey babe, I'm gonna take Reese and Ryan to get some ice cream want to come with?" I asked.

Zach looked up from his phone and he shook his head.

"Naw, I think I'm just gonna take a nap." Zach replied.

I nodded then walked over to him.

"Sleep well." I said giving his a kiss on the forehead.
