chapter forty five

Janina's pov: "Once again, another goodbye." I said as I hugged Zach.

"I wish you all were coming with us to the airport." Zach said.

I sighed.

"Me too, but Kendra is the girls and my ride home and she's gotta be home soon." I said.

"I just wanna take you back to LA and never let you leave my side." He said as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

I slightly chuckled.

"Me too." I said grinning.

Zach leaned in then kissed me. I kissed back, of course.

"I love you." Zach said breaking the kiss.

"I love you too." I said.

Then I remembered about the last FaceTime call I had with him and decided to question him about it.

"Hey, Zach." I said.

"Yes, love." Zach said.

"The other day on FaceTime you seemed kind of... off, did something happen?" I asked.

"Uh no." He said.

"Zach, you don't need to lie to me." I said.

"I'm sorry, it's just I don't think you knowing would do any good." He said.

"Knowing what?" I asked.

He took in a deep breath then exhaled.

"Do you really want to know?" He asked.

I hesitated a bit, but nodded my head yes anyways.

"Um Chloe showed up at the boys and my house the day before our FaceTime call." He said rubbing the back of my neck.

My heart slowly dropped as if I knew what he was gonna say next.

"And?" I asked even though I was scared to find out what else there is to know.

"And something happened." He said sighing.

"You kissed her." I said as tears threatened to spill at any moment.

"No, that's not exactly what happened, but-" He started to say, but stopped, obviously trying to think of what to say next.

A tear escaped my eye and rolled down my cheek. I quickly wiped it away.

"Then what exactly happened?" I asked.

"It's kind of a long story." He said sighing once again.

Knock knock

"That's Sarah, I better get going." I mumbled before grabbing my stuff and heading towards the door.

"Janina, please let me explain." Zach begged.

I looked back at him and shook my head.

"Zach, I can't do this right now." I said then I walked out the door.

"Woah, Janina what's wrong?" Sarah asked when she saw I had tears running down my face.

"Nothing, I just hate leaving him." I lied and started to walk away.

She frowned as she followed me towards the elevators.

"Are you sure nothing else happened?" She asked.
