You've all come out of the undertaker's shop after he'd given you the information and Ciel and Sebastian were off discussing something in their own little huddle. You held the threatening note tightly in your shaking hand, trying to think up a course of action.
"Young mistress, are you feeling unwell?"
Looking up, you saw your brown haired maid looking at you with concern.
"Mary-Anne." you spoke in a uncharacteristically serious tone, startling your maid.
"Yes?!" the maid straightened herself suddenly, expecting a reprimand.
"Are you really okay with this?"
"Huh?" the young woman was visibly confused.
You gripped the note tighter still.
"Your life is in danger here," you forced the words to come out. "you have every right to leave me now."
"I understand why you'd say that, but I don't see it that way," your maid spoke warmly "I've never thought of leaving you and I'm not going to do it now. I don't care if I have to experience danger, I've been through that before, but I'm never going to forget what you've done for me."
Something warmed up inside you when you heard the sincere way your maid had spoken.
"I owe my life to my young mistress after all."
You were fighting the urge to hug the angelic girl in front of you when you felt the presence of the Earl.
"It'd be best if you were to come back to my manor."
His manor? Is this what they had been discussing?
"I hope to be able to work more on the case there and it'd be safer for you as well." he spoke firmly and you understood that it was more of a command than an offer. "Your maid is coming too of course."
You weren't expecting this, but if Mary-Anne was going to be safer there, then you simply had to go.
"Sounds like a plan." you gave the dark haired boy an appreciative smile, not noticing the flustered look on his face before he turned away.
"Come on," Ciel spoke with his back to you, hiding his pink dusted cheeks. "the carriage is this way."

You sank into the bed in the guest room of the Phantomhive manor after slipping into a (f/c) nightgown.
Mary-Anne would be sleeping with Meyrin and being the diligent worker she was, she'd helped the clumsy pink haired maid with the preparations for dinner. You were glad to see that she had settled in so well with the Phantomhive servants- they seemed like a nice bunch.
But was this really alright?
Maybe Mary-Anne would be safer away from you...
You held your suitcase closer to yourself, feeling the soft movements of the memories against your chest.
Ciel's P.O.V
I walked down the corridor towards the guest room Y/n was staying in. She had been shocked when we first received the threatening letter- that was to be expected. However, it is obvious that she is still shaken by the incident. Her eyes were filled with anxiousness, always darting after the direction of her maid.
It wasn't a part of my job to console the Queen's sparrow, but I couldn't suppress the urge to help the distressed girl.
I knocked on the door and after a few moments I was greeted with the sight of [Y/n] in a f/c nightgown.
She wore the same worried look and she gripped her suitcase tightly in her arms. I supposed this was to be expected- as a memory weaver her strength lay in the memories she collected- it was only natural for her to be attached to them.
"Is it okay if I come in?"
The (h/c) haired girl nodded weakly and I followed her into the room.
"About the note...""You don't need to worry about that." I spoke firmly. "We'll protect you here. You don't need to worry about your safety."
"I don't care about my safety!"
[Y/n] burst out suddenly. "Mary-Anne is an honest, kind soul and I can't let her continue serving me if it means that she's in danger."Her maid...? Most people would've started being afraid for their own lives by now. To be afraid for her maid rather than trying to preserve herself- this girl is really something else.
"I'd be acting selfishly if I asked her to stay..." The (h/c) haired girl looked down guiltily.
Without thinking, I moved closer to the selfless soul in front of me.
Your P. O. V
You looked up from the ground when you felt a pair of hand enveloping yours and found yourself looking straight into the Earl's eye.
The midnight blue colour orb that was usually unreadable was now filled with determination.
"I will not let anything touch you or your maid while you're at my estate."
"I swear by my family name."
