"We found evidence that proved the poisoner was Dr. Neill Cream and were able to apprehend the culprit, however, he has a few mild injuries due to the means we needed to use to capture him," you looked down guiltily and fiddled with your thumbs when Ciel read out the report that was to be sent to the Queen.
In your haste, you'd thrown your suitcase at Cream without thinking about anything other than saving the dark haired boy. The end result was that the poisoner ended up with mild burns caused by the collective heat of the memories and cuts from the glass shards from broken vials.
"However," Ciel went on more warmly when he noticed your anxiety. "we were able to put an end to the poisonings and sent the culprit into the hands of the Scotland Yard as you wished."
The Earl put down the report papers and addressed you in the more casual way you had gotten used to talking to him in. "Personally, I think we did rather well- don't you?"
"Yes," you replied with an affectionate smile. "I think we did."
There was a knock on the door just as you finished your sentence.
"I supposed the two of you would've finished up the report by now." the raven haired butler opened the door and spoke with his usual efficiency.
"Yes," the Earl spoke to his butler coolly. "you can come in."
You watched worriedly as he pushed the tea trolley in with his usual swiftness, but you finally burst out when he started to pour out the tea.
"Are you sure you're okay working like this?" you put your hand over mouth after the words had come out.
"I'm sorry," you went on hurriedly. "I didn't mean to be rude, I just thought, with your injuries..." you trailed off uncertainly, scared at having offended both the Earl and his butler.
"That's not a problem," the dark haired boy spoke with a satisfied smirk on his face. "Isn't that right, Sebastian?"
"Yes," the black clad butler spoke as he placed a cup of tea in front of you.
"A Phantomhive servant that couldn't go on with their duties as usual due to a gun wound isn't worth their salt."You nodded before taking a sip of your tea. Sebastian had received a few injuries from the fight he had with the driver. You were quite concerned, however, you had to admit that seeing him able to go about his work with his usual efficiency had put an end to your worrying.
It appeared that in addition to his amazing abilities, Sebastian was also to heal at a superhuman speed.
"[Y/n]," the Earl's soothing voice brought you back to present time. "I know that you're leaving soon, but I'd like you to have this as a thank you gift for working hard on this case and helping me along the way."
Ciel pulled out a rectangular object that was deliberately hidden from your sight out from under the table.
The Earl was holding your Father's suitcase- all fixed up. In fact, it looked like it was in an even better condition than it was before.
Unable to contain your gratitude, you pulled the dark haired boy into an embrace.
Ciel's P. O. V
I tensed up slightly when [Y/n] wrapped her arms around me- I'd speculated about what would happen when I gave her the suitcase, but I had never expected anything of this sort.
"Thank you." the (h/c) girl spoke almost noiselessly, but I could sense countless emotions packed into the two short words.
I let myself relax in her embrace.
"Any time." I felt a small smile tugging on my lips as I held her - I would be happy to do any number of things for this girl.
Your P. O. V
You smiled at the Earl as you held the suitcase in your hands once again.
"Anyways," Ciel spoke a tad flusteredly- you realised that he probably wasn't used to being embraced so suddenly.
You should've known that already, but all your common sense seemed to be lost, drowned by waves of emotions when it came to the blue eyed boy standing in front of you.
"I sincerely enjoyed working with you on this case and I hope our paths will cross again someday." Ciel held out his hand to you, a tiniest tinge of pink remaining on his cheeks.
You could sense a mutual feeling of fondess and understanding you had for each other when you took his hand in yours.
"I'm sure they will." you beamed brightly at the boy you'd gotten so close to over the past few days. "Someday soon, I'm sure."
