[7th June 1888]

The dark haired male laid down the letter he was previously reading and spoke to the uniformed man standing opposite of his table.

"The Queen wishes for me to investigate the smuggling of dangerous creatures which has been occurring recently." The boy paused for a second as if to think before going on. "According to her, it is highly likely that the Ibis company has something to do with it."

"The Ibis company is known for importing foreign animals and selling them to wealthy European merchants, is it not?"

"Yes, it is difficult for the Scotland Yard to investigate as they couldn't interfere with companies, however," the eyepatched boy gave a small smirk."It wouldn't be too hard for me to meet with the company head under the guise of forming a new business deal."

"You seem quite confident about solving this case, young master."

"Of course, the Ibis company may be known to have a mysterious company head, but I'm sure even someone as secretive as they are wouldn't refuse a deal with a company as large as Funtom."

"I see." the red eyes butler seemed mildly amused by his master's confidence.

"Sebastian, I still need you to make the necessary preparations before that happens, don't forget."

"Yes, my lord."

[11th June 1888]

"Your Highness, I think it best to start preparing for the negotiation about the horses."

The blonde frowned at the words of his golden eyed butler. He'd never liked negotiations. They were always so formal and it was tiring to act polite for so long.

"I still don't understand why we have to stay over at their place." he mumbled unhappily. "Why can't we visit them and come home like we do with every other company?"

"The Ibis company has been supplying the Trancy household with horses for quite some time, however, none of the heads of house has ever met him. The fact the company head has invitited you over could be a sign of trust and greatfulness."

The young Earl still looked unconvinced.

"It would be considered extremely rude not to go. The head would possibly be offended enough to stop the trading of horses." the butler prompted his stubborn master.

"Fine," the boy let out a sigh of defeat. "Tell them we'll go."

[14th June 1888]

Two figures sat together at a breakfast table that was evidently set up with skill and care. The atmosphere was that of a clam, regular morning and all was peaceful. A large pedigree dog slept at the foot of the younger figure's chair as if he knew that he'd be given scraps when he woke up.

"You seem excited about something, Louisuette." The (h/c) haired girl spoke to the younger girl who was indeed looking as if she were anticipating something special.

"Of course I am," she spoke happily, her cerulean eyes shining. "You're staying over for a week this time, right?"

"I sure am."

Louisuette was like a younger sister to [Y/n]. Their fathers had known each other when they were students and the two girls had played together since they were young. However, due to an unfortunate turn of events, both of their parents were gone from the world. This could've easily broken the bond between any other people, but it didn't for them.

They looked after each other, annoyed each other, worried about the other and were closer than many blood related sisters.

"Also," the young girl piped up again. "the company's having two business negotiations today."

"That's great, I'm sure Alister will handle them just as well as he normally does."

"Oh, Alister's not the one negotiating this time."

"He's not?" Shock was shown clearly in the (e/c) orbs of the older girl. Alister was in charge of handling the business of the Ibis company since Louisuette was too young to do it all by herself. "Did he get a new assistant or something...?"

"Nope." The girl's brown curls bounced around as she shook her head, looking extremely satisfied. "I arranged them all by myself."

A sound of a fork being slammed down and a chair being scraped backwards could be heard in the silence that followed the statement.

"I'm going to contact Alister right now."

"You can't- he's taking care of something in France. Won't be back for a few days."

"Why'd you set up the business negotiations then?!"

"I have to learn somehow," the brunette spoke nonchalantly. "besides, you're here with me and you know how to run a business."

"Fine," the older girl spoke exasperatedly. "It'd be rude to call off the negotiations anyways."

"Thank you for your cooperation." Louisuette spoke, giggling in a way that gave her companion no choice but to smile back at her.

Before the entrance of the Quinton manor were two figures each accompanied by their butlers. They had arrived at the same time and were now scrutinizing each other without making it look too obvious. Their butlers exchanged a cold and piercing gaze, but diverted their attentions back to their masters. Both Earls were equally confused and wary at the presence of the other, but before any of them could speak up, the doors to the mansion was opened by yet another man in a butler uniform.

"Please come in," he spoke courtiously. "The young mistress has been waiting for you."

There was a look of surprise on both Earl's faces, but what they saw next only increased their incredulity.

"Good afternoon," the brunette's cerulean eyes sparkled with mischief as she greeted her bewildered visitors
