It was now two weeks into the summer holiday since we moved and four days left before school resumed. In our first week, we had checked out the neighborhood and familiarized with our neighbors. Jordan had started hanging out with the kids next door. There were five boys in that house and only one girl who hung out with Divine. So our families became pretty close and best of all they attended the school we were soon going to start. The eldest boy from the Andersons was always over me. He gave me these flirty looks that I returned with rude glares. I have never had anything serious with anyone and I wasn't ready to. I had decided not to get involved in any kind of relationship earlier on and Jordan had tried to discourage Pete from trying so as not to get heart broken but the boy was too stubborn to listen.
Then there was another family two blocks away from us. They had a daughter my age and another that was Jordan's age who he was obviously crushing on. Gross!
Today I was going shopping for school supplies and I decided to ask Nicole if she could go with me. Nicole was the girl two blocks away. I have never been out of our neighborhood before so I didn't know anywhere. She agreed willingly and we prepared to go. Dad had bought me a car five days ago and I was so happy to have my own ride.
Nicole directed me through the town till we got to the mall. "This is where I get all my school stuffs and they have really good stuffs, I must confess." She said giddily. I let her lead me into the huge place and I looked around, feeding my eyes with everything I saw.
"What do you wanna start with?" Nicole asked seeing as I was confused.
"I don't really know. Why don't you take me around, maybe I'll find what I want." I replied calmly.
About three hours later, we had finished shopping and were headed back to the house. Along the way we had started knowing each other more. I learnt I was going to be in the same class as Nicole, that was great. At least there would be someone I knew. By the time we got to Nicole's house, I had known pretty much everything about her and vice versa.
"See you in school on Monday." She said happily before getting down.
"Hey Nicole," I called to her and she turned. "Mind if I picked you up on Monday? That will be a lot easier in getting around the place." Again she was more than willing to accept and I thanked her before moving on to our drive way.
