I couldn't help but smile at the strong woman that was standing right next to me.
"And it would be really smart that you learn not only our names but that of everyone who lives here. What kind of a leader doesn't have time to keep track of everyone?" I retorted.
Gregory didn't say anything. He turned around and left the room.
"Asshole," Sasha said.
"Damn straight," I said.
We all turned to see whether the Saviors had taken off yet. They were still here, gathered at the front gate.
"When I got here, Gregory was already in charge. Thought the people chose him for a reason. Looking at it now, I think it just happened. I didn't like the way he did things. But I couldn't imagine anyone else in his place. I can now," Jesus said.
I smiled and looked over at him. He looked back at me and nodded. He was thinking about the same person that I was. Maggie.
"Who?" Maggie asked.
"We'll talk about it sometime. I should've talked to Gregory sooner. I'm sorry. Hopefully, you'll let me make it up to you," Jesus said.
Maggie looked at him.
"We will," she said.
The Saviors had finally left. They closed the gates.
"The gates are closed," Maggie said.
"Wait, they're still loading up outside," Jesus said.
"I'll see you guys back at the trailer," Maggie said.
"I'm going with you. You're not leaving my side," I said.
Maggie smirked.
"All right," she said.
"We'll see you back at the trailer, Sasha," I said resting my hand on her shoulder.
She nodded. I went and hugged Jesus.
"We appreciate all you've done for us," I said when we parted.
"It's not over yet," he retorted.
I nodded. Maggie and I left the room. Maggie held on tightly to Glenn's watch.
"The audacity of that man," I said.
"I was glad that I saw it," Maggie said.
"You want to leave it there again?" I asked.
"I don't know," she said.
"Well let's go ahead and visit him," I said.
We made our way to the graves. When we got there, I was filled with more emotions. Enid had made her way here. She had placed some balloons on Abraham's grave. She must have thought it was Glenn's.
"Enid?" I said.
She looked up at the both of us.
"You're here," Maggie said.
The three of us met each other halfway.
"Are you okay?" Enid asked Maggie.
"I'm not," she replied.
She then went over to the graves. She turned around.
"But I will be," Maggie said reassuringly.
She went over to hug Enid.
"It's good to see you, Enid," I said smiling at her.
She then came over and hugged me as well.
