Chapter 14

[Third person pov | A street somewhere]

"You did what?!" Ibiki stopped walking suddenly, nearly sending Edryn, who was on his shoulders, flying over his head. "I throat punched a lil' bitch. Then I headbutted this hoe's chin a coupla times. It was feckin' great." Edryn told him as though it were normal. Ibiki let out a long sigh. "So you got into a fight?" Ibiki asked. "I got into a feckin' fight." Edryn confirmed vulgarly. "Did you win?" Ibiki checked. "Hands down. What do yah think I am, a little bitch?" Although Ibiki couldn't see her face, he knew it'd twisted into one of slight disgust and disappointment directed at him. He had to snort slightly. Edryn was odd, but she was starting to grow on him. A little. 

Just a little.

"Where are we goin' anyway?" Edryn asked. This route was unfamiliar, and they were going to opposite direction of Ibiki's house. Was he taking her to murder her in the woods? Edryn wouldn't put it past the man. He was already pretty sketchy. "Try t' feckin' murder me and 'ou won't have yer dick for too much longer." The dwarf threatened. Ibiki barked out a short laugh at the girl's threat and assumption. She was too paranoid for her own good. Ibiki supposed having your family murdered would do that to you. "I'm not going to murder you, even if you are a brat. I still have work, which means you have to sit in my office until I'm done. I don't trust you home alone." He told the girl. 

"Fair enough." Edryn supposed. She didn't trust herself home alone either. "What is it 'at yag do anyway?" Edyrn asked curiously. She thought that maybe he'd already told her, but she couldn't really remember. She probably wasn't paying attention whenever his profession was revealed, if it had been revealed at all. "I'm head of Konoha's Torture and Interrogation branch." Ibiki smirked. Maybe after learning that, Edryn would be a little more in line. It was too much to hope, but he wished for it anyway, even though he was sure it would never happen. 

"Can I help?" Of course that's something she would ask. This kid was insane. "No." Ibiki's blunt reply made Edryn frown. Torturing people sounded fun. She wanted to scream at people and kick them in the shins and not get in trouble for it. "Can I watch?" She tried, pulling on the man's ear slightly. He grumbled something under his breath, trying to move his head so she'd let go. "I'll see if you can sit in on one. Nothing physical." Ibiki's tone was final. Edryn's cheeks puffed up as she pouted. "Yet no fun..." She mumbled, tugging more on his ear. The man let out a hiss.

Time skip

"Ibiki, why do you have a small child on your shoulders?"

"Bitch did 'ou wanna fight. I can totally fight yer ass." 

Inoichi jumped in shock, his eyes widening at Edryn's vulgar way of speaking. Ibiki let out a sight, removing the short girl from his shoulders. "You get used to it." He grumbled, shaking his head. "O-Oh." Inoichi cleared his throat slightly. He'd heard Ibiki was placed in charge of a new resident of Konoha, but he hadn't known it was a child... a short, rude child. "My name is Inoichi Yamanaka."

Edryn eyed the man's smile. "Uh huh. I'm Edryn 'allowhill." Edryn said. "Hollowhill." Ibiki provided quickly, sidestepped a well-aimed kick that flew at his leg. Inoichi blinked. What an angry, sassy child. "Edryn is a dwarf, the last of her kind. She curses a lot and watch out because she'll kick you if offended." Ibiki recited all this information as though he'd memorized it all to a T, and knowing him, he probably had. He looked tired, and he hadn't even been in charge of Edryn all that long. Inoichi found he sort of understood. Ino wasn't as bad as Edryn, but she was rather... she was a teenager, and she was obsessed with a boy. Teenagers obsessed with boys were hard to deal with.

"Come on, brat. My office is this way." Ibiki grumbled. "Don't call me a' brat, bitch." Edryn snapped back, following after him angrily. "Then don't call me a bitch." Ibiki requested. "But 'ou are one." Edryn ducked a punch aimed for her head, nearly causing Ibiki to fall on his face. She cackled at him. Inoichi could only watch the exchange. How odd. It was almost like they were friends, but not really. More like they both saw each other as nuisances and were acting on it. "This'll be... interesting." The Yamanaka smiled to himself, shaking his head.
