A Night To Remember or A Night To Forget? {Forth&Beam}

Chapter 4

'Is this set taken?'

My thoughts were interrupted by the line that I've heard for god knows how many times tonight. But there was something different this times.

I looked over and saw a beautiful woman standing next to me. She had on a red dress that hugged her in all the right places, and her long black hair was up in an neat bun. She was very stunning.

"Well?" She said, I didn't even realized that I hadn't answered her.

"Yes. Uhm I mean no sit, please." I just mentally face palmed myself, what the hell is wrong with you Beam.

She smiled and sat next to me. "Thanks." She ordered herself a drink, and when it came, she took a small sip from the straw. Then she turned to me and extended her right hand. "I'm May."

I looked at her extended hand for a few seconds then I shock it. "Beam. Im Beam, nice to meet you P'May."

"No just call me May, no need to be so formal."

"Ohh ok May, it's nice to meet you." After she let go of my hand, she turned her attention back to her drink. Thinking that was the end of our conversation, I did the same.

At that moment, all I could think about was Forth; I hadn't seen him since the night before last. I really miss him, that is why I was so hoping that we could have came here together. I was lost in my thoughts, when I heard May calling my name. I looked over at her, having forgotten that she was even there.

"Yes P'... I mean May, sorry about that."

"It's fine, are you ok? Where did you go just now?" She said giving me a worried look.

"Yeah, I'm fine, was just deep in thought."

"Ohh, well I was asking if you wanted to dance?" She asked, as she moved to the beat of the music a little.

"Ohh. Uhmm no thank you, I'm ok. You go ahead." I told her. Yes I wanted to dance, but I can't dance with her, what would Forth think?

She looked at me and shrugged her shoulders. "Ok suit yourself." She jumped up from her seat. "Watch my drink will you." She said and walked off before I could even answer. My eyes followed her across the club.

"Why does she look so familiar?" I definitely think I've seen her before, but where would I have seen her? May walked over to a group of guys and pulled two of them on to the dance floor. "She sure isn't as classy as I thought she was."

I turned back to the bar, and order a glass of water. I have lost count of how much I've drank, so I think it's time to slow down.

After dancing for about twenty minutes or so, may came back to her seat. Her hair was not as neat, and her dress was wrinkled. "Man that was so fun, you should definitely let lose and come dance with me Beam." She said as she tried to pull me out of my seat. (Another person who does not know how to take No for an answer.)

"No May, I'm fine. I don't think my boyfriend would be too happy if he found out that I danced with someone else." She looked at me, and her eyes got wide.

"Your gay?" She asked, or more like yelled in my face.

Not that I need to explain anything to her, but why not. "Before him, I only dated and slept with girls. So I don't really know how to answer that."

She shook her head as I talked. "Ohhh so that makes you Bi then." She said with her hand under chin.

"I don't really like putting a label on myself, I just love who I love."

She just looked at me and said. "Dude thats fucking deep... so, do you want to dance?" This girl right now. Did she not just hear what I said?

What happened to the elegant looking woman that approached me 45 minutes ago? I guess you just have to pour a few drinks down her throat and that woman goes out the window.

"No May, I don't want to dance. Just go dance with those guys you were dancing with before." I said pointing to the guys who were standing a little ways away waiting for her.

"But I don't want to dance with them. I want to dance with you Beam... do you know how much courage I had to work up just to come ask you about this damn seat that I knew was obviously empty."

I was dumbfounded. "You mean to tell me that you actually came over here to try and pick me up?"

"Yes Beam, how could you have not known that? Look around, there are like five or six empty seats here that I could have sat at." She did have a point, now that I look, there really are a lot of empty seats here.

"Sorry, but like I said May. I have a boyfriend, actually when you came up to me I was thinking about him. So I was not even paying attention to anything around me."

May gave me a sad look, I do appreciate her bravery for approaching me. But I'm not interested.

"So your saying that there is no hope for you and I Beam?"

"Yes May, that's what I'm saying. But you know there are plenty of good looking guys here, and you are a very good looking woman. You can have anyone here."

"No I'm ok. It's you that I really wanted, but now you say there is no hope. So I don't really want to go up to anyone else. I don't think I can take another rejection."

"But what about those guys?" I said pointing to the guys who she danced with

"I don't want them." She said calling the bartender over. May order another drink, and as it was placed in front of her, she made very quick work of it.

I feel really bad for her, but what can I do? I'm in a relationship with Forth, and I'm not trying to hinder it in anyway. I love him too much to do that.

I ordered another water and sipped on it. "Ohh your, not drinking anymore?" She asked pointing to the glass of water.

"No I think I've had enough, I was starting to feel really buzzed; and I still have to drive home. So I need to start sobering up a little."

"Ok, I can understand that."

A few more minutes past. "I'm going to the washroom for a few minutes." I said walking away. I was trying my best to not have to go through that ordeal of the very touchy-feely crowd again. But at this point I have no other choice, after drinking so much.

"Here we go again."
