Dan had stopped driving.
"Dan, where the hell are we?"
"It's a surprise" was all he said
"We are literally in the middle of nowhere, what's surprising is that you are getting out of the car"
"Come on, y/n, love a little, get out of the car and come look at this"
I did as he asked, although I didn't want to, I saw Dan reaching out for my hand and I took it and was led to a hill by Dan, as we walked up to the top I was told to close my eyes, which took a bit of persuading on Dans behalf. We finished climbing the hill and when I opened my eyes I saw a view of the full city, the street lights lit up and only the sounds of night animals could be heard,
"Dan, this is so beautiful, how did you find this place?"
"It was while you were away, I wanted a place to come and be alone, out of the city, so I started driving and ended up here, I wanted to show it you"
"Well, thank you, this is probably the most beautiful thing I've ever seen" I was looking out over the city, but could see Dan staring straight at me as he answered
"Yeah, me too" (too much cheese)
"Hey y/n" I looked over to Dan as he began to speak "so, there is a reason I wanted to bring you here. While you were gone I'd come here and look over at this gorgeous landscape and all I could think about was how little it compared to you, because to me you are 10000x more beautiful then this view, and I know you don't see that but you are, every little thing about you makes that true, every weird thing you say and do makes this amazing girl stood in front of me and I must be the kookiest person alive right now because I'm stood here, holding your hand, and I get to kiss you and your my best friend, but, that's not enough, all of that is great but it would be perfect if our kisses were more than just spontaneous friendly ones. What I'm trying to say is, y/n, will you be my girlfriend?" I took a moment for all of Dans words to sink in, but my answer was evident and positively the easiest decision I've ever made
"Of course I will, nothing would make me happier" the biggest smile grew on both mine and Dans faces and we hugged and kissed before sitting on the top of the hill cuddling and being so happy in our current position that we both could have stayed there forever.
