Summer With the Grier's (Hayes Grier)

Chapter 7

*ALI'S P.O.V*

It was about 6:00 now and we had been a the beach all day.  We were all getting hungry so we decided to go find somewhere to eat.  "There is a great little pizza shop down here in the cove if you guys want to eat there."  I suggested. 

Everyone agreed and we packed up our stuff from the beach and headed up to the pizza shop.  

We took up most of the seats at the restaurant because it was so small.  Everyone sat down and ordered their pizza.  Just as we ordered this girl me and Cassidy go to school with walked in with two of her friends.

She claimed that she was a huge fan of all the vine guys, but she dosen't act like a big fan.  She saw us and came running over because we were with all of the vine boys.

Normally she is really mean to me and Cass and never wants to be seen with us, but since we were with the people she "loved" she acted like we were her best friends. 

"OMG hey Ali and Cassidy.  I didn't expect you guys to be here.  Oh hi I'm Lexi.  I'm huge fans of you guys."  Lexi said.  The guys smiled at her.  They seemed to think she was a nice girl.  Me and Cassidy just looked at each other with disgusted faces. 

"Do you want to stay and eat with us."  Cameron asked being the gentleman he is.  

I shot him a death look, but she agreed and went to pull up a chair.  She sat down right next to Hayes.  Out of all the places she could sit down she chooses to sit next to Hayes.  

Hayes had always been Lexi's favorite.  She would always say how he would be hers one day.  She was a bit obsessed with him.

While we continued waiting for our food Hayes and Lexi were talking with each other and laughing.  I could tell Lexi was flirting with Hayes.  I mean she made it really obvious.  I think Cameron noticed I was staring at Hayes and Lexi.  He was sitting next to me. "Hey you ok.  You look a little angry."  Cameron asked me.  

"NO!  Lexi is not my friends.  In fact she has bullied me before and is always mean.  The only reason she is here is because of you guys."  I said as my cheeks flushed with anger.

"She doesn't seem that bad, but I believe you.  And don't worry about Hayes.  He is just tying to be nice.  All he could talk about today was you."  

"Really?"  A huge smile spread across my face.

"Ya he really like you"

I forgot about Hayes and Lexi and just enjoyed being with my friends.  

The pizza came and we all ate up because we were starving by this point.  

After we finished eating Cassidy spoke up.  "Is anyone up for ice cream.  There is a great place next door." 

We all agreed, payed for out pizza and headed next door to get ice cream.  Unfortunately Lexi came with us.  Everyone ordered there ice cream and we all sat down.  "So Hayes, what are you doing after this?  Do you maybe want to come by my place?"  I heard Lexi say.

"Sorry he can't"  I interrupted them. 

"That's fine.  Maybe we can all hang out then."

"We are all busy.  We already made plans sorry."

Lexi seemed pretty angry about that.  Everyone just looked at me with the same expression.

"Hey can I talk to you for a minuet?"  Hayes asked.

He stood up and grabbed my arm.  I followed him out the shop.

"What was that all about.  Lexi is a really nice girl and that was not very nice what you said.  We don't even have any plans tonight!"  Hayes said raising his voice.

"You don't even know Lexi!  She is the opposite of nice.  And she was flirting with you and you did nothing about it!!!!!" 

"Well maybe she changed.  I think you should give her another chance."

"YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HAYES.  SHE BULLIES ME AND HAS SINCE I WAS LITTLE."  I said as tears started rolling down my face.  

"I-I-I'm sorry I didn't realize."  

"OF COURSE YOU DIDN'T REALIZE HAYES.  YOU JUST SUSPECTED SHE WAS THIS PERFECT GIRL."  I ran off tears running down my face.  I couldn't go home because I knew Hayes would be there.  I just kept running away from Hayes. 

I could hear him calling after me and some footsteps chasing behind me, but I ignored him.  All I knew at this point was that I needed to get away from everyone.
