ava had finished talking to her new friends and had prepared herself for bed, and she suddenly went against their advice as the thought of finn wolfhard popped into her head.

the thought of him made her angry. she liked him. she really did. but he didn't like her, or refused to. he might've liked her. he might've really liked her. but he didn't because he chose not to see it.

ava squeezed her eyes closed and decided for another topic, but nothing came to her. she only thought of finn's dark, curly hair. his constant jokes, no matter the situation. his persuasive skills. the list went on as her mind wandered over the boy until she drifted asleep.

☾☼about a week later☼☽

ava had stayed away from finn to the best of her abilities, it became more of a challenge in english when they were sat together. but she managed to some effect. she noticed finn get frustrated whenever she'd brush him off or ignore him completely.  she didn't enjoy seeing him unhappy, but liked that she had been able to avoid him.

she had been talking to sadie, millie and noah the entire week almost constantly and whenever she could.  finn worked his hardest to get ava's attention but to no avail.

he seemed to notice her every time he turned on his phone, every time he passed her in the hall, every time he went into their classroom, he would see her and hear her voice and all he wanted was to talk to her and hug her.

but whenever he tried, ava would push him away and finn would only realize a little more how much he wanted her.

ava smiled, suddenly extremely excited to see her best friend again as she made mini-plans in her head to what they'd do when she was over.

the short few minutes it took for millie to get there seemed to stretch on as she stared out her window. where she suddenly remembered and pictured very vividly, finn standing there outside of her window, on his way into her house.

god, that seemed like forever ago.

as she got caught up in her thoughts, finally millie and her dad pulled into the driveway.  ava squealed and rushed to her front door, swinging it open as soon as she got there. 

"mills!" she shouted, running towards her,  hugging her when she got to her.

"ava! oh my gosh, i don't want to leave tomorrow!" she pulled away with a frown.
