How Much Do You Love Me?

How much do I love you, you ask? Well how much do you think?

About how much a fire loves tenaciously lapping its greedy tongues of flame at the logs in which it engulfs, or how much a bear loves catching a fish in its mouth after hours of impatiently resting at the top of a small waterfall. I love you as much as an astronomer loves the stars over his head. I love you as much as a gamer loves the reassuring feeling of a controller or keyboard rested under his ready thumbs. I love you as much as anyone loves anything.

And even more.

I love you more than the controller loves being put to use by the nerd sitting on his dirty couch. I love you more than the stars love being gazed at by the astronomer's telescope. I love you more than fish love swimming against an aggressive current to the top of a waterfall. I love you more than the logs of a bonfire love fueling the flames to provide a radial warmth in all directions. I love you more than anything loves anything, and I love you more than anyone will ever love you.

My body has loved your body like no other, my lips have loved your lips before any other, my eyes have loved your eyes since the moment they connected, and my heart will always love your heart, as much as it always has. I love you, and I always will, in all ways, and in all ways I will always love you, because you love me.

"You asked how much I loved you. Well darling, there's your answer."
