"News flash Ben, school's out for the summer" Richie says in a weird accent. He takes out a folder from Ben's backpack.

"Oh that, that's not school stuff." Ben Responds. I saw Richie pull out something but Ben put it back quickly.

"What's with the history project?" Richie asks, holding open a thin green folder.

"When I first moved here, I didn't really have anyone to hang out with. So I spent my time at the library." I knew that Ben felt a bit embarrassed.

"You went to the library? On purpose?" To be honest I have only been at the library like only three times. Richie, not even a minute. Ben explained to us what Bill was seeing. The Blackspot. There was little moment in between Bill and Bev.

"Y-Y-Your hair.."Bill starts.

"Your hair looks beautiful, Beverly." Ben interrupts.

"Oh. Thanks." Beverly says, pulling a piece of hair behind her ear. Poor Bill, must've been awkward.

I signaled Bill to pass the papers. The folder was passed on to Stan. I looked over his shoulder. On the inside was an old article. The thought of more than 100 people dying terrified my  thoughts. Especially children

Richie retrieves the papers.

"Why is it all murders and missing kids?"

"Derry is not like any town I've ever been in. They did a study here once.Turns out, people die or disappear, six times the national average." Ben explains.

"What? That's insane!" I exclaim.

"You read that?" Beverly asks.

"That's just grown ups. Kids are worse, way way  worse. I've got more stuff if you want to see it?"

Instantly, Eddie shook his head no.

"Sure, why not." I stood up and started to get ready.

"This is it!" Ben says to us, placing the bikes on the front of his house.

We all walked in the house and into his room. On the way Eddie and Richie were talking about something irrelevant. We arrived to Ben's room. The walls were all covered in pictures and news articles about Derry. The rest of the room was pretty normal, well for a teenage boy

"Wow!" Richie says with a tone of sarcasm.
"Pretty cool huh?" Ben asked. It was actually quite impressive.

"No, no, nothing cool." Richie looks around, examining every pinned and taped pictures on the wall

"This is really cool Ben! How much information do you have on Derry?" I stared in awe at the wall. I am pretty smart considering my straight-As but I never really had one topic of interest that I know most of.

"Way more than that wall. Trust me."

"What's that?" Stan points to a piece of paper with writing. I walked closer, next to Richie and him.

"That's the charter for Derry township." Ben explains

"Wow, nerd alert!" Ironically, Richie lifted his thick framed glasses higher with his finger. I rolled my eyes.

"It's actually really interesting. Derry started as a beaver trapping camp."

"Still is, am I right boys?" Richie jokes, holding up his again for Eddie or Stan to hi-five it. I pull his hand down.

"91 people signed the treaty. But later that winter, they all disappeared without a trace."

"The whole camp?" Eddie asked, kind of scared and regretting going to his house, even though he was forced.

"There were rumors of Indians, but no sign of an attack."

"Was there a sickness going around or something?" I ask Ben.

"Well, everyone thought is was the plague or something."

"Wouldn't their dead corpses be there? The bodies wouldn't be able to move by themselves."

"It was like one day everyone woke up and just left. Only clue was the trail of bloody clothes leading to well house."

I walked over to Beverly, looking at the opposite side of the room. She pushes the door far from the wall revealing a New Kids on The Block poster. Beverly and I exchanged looks. Ben turned to us, his eyes pleading for us to say nothing about it. I smiled, trying not to laugh. I didn't want to embarrass the kid. Beverly pushed back the door to its original place.

"Maybe he's just trying to make some friends, Stanley." I heard Richie say. I walked over and smacked his head. "Ow what the hell Raven!" He rubbed his now in pain head.

"Where was the well house?" Bill asks Ben.

"I don't know somewhere in town I guess." Eddie sniffed something what seemed like a cologne bottle. It was really strong. I put it back where it was, smacking his hand warning him to stop rummaging through Ben's stuff. "Why?"

"Nothing."

Richie and I rode our bikes to the arcade. We walked in and ran towards the Street Fighter game. I open my small bag and searched for some quarters.

"Come on Raven!" Richie whines. I finally took out as many as I think we needed. Richie picks two up and inserts it into the slots. The game came on. I chose my character and so did he.

"First Round Raven. I'm going to beat you every single one."

"Give me your best shot."

Beverly called me earlier today. She invited us to her house, needing to show us something. I told Richie and Stan, Richie telling Eddie, Stan telling Bill and Ben. Together, we went down to Beverly's. She ran down the rusty brown stairs.

Her voice trembling, "I-I need to show you something."

"What is it?"

"More than what we saw at the quarry?" Richie comments. I rolled my eyes. I hit him upside his head. "Jesus Raven. That actually hurts."

"That actually hurts" I mock him. "That is why I do it dumbass. But its not making you any smarter."

"Shut up. Just shut up both of you." Bill said sternly. I crossed my arms.

"My dad will kill me if he found out I had boys in the apartment."

"W-W-We'll have a lookout. Now, Richie s-stay here." Bill orders.

"Woah, woah, woah. What if her dad comes back?" Richie asks us while I was already on my way to Beverly's apartment.

"Do what you always do. Start talking." Stan said to Richie bluntly.

"It is a gift."
