I watch Harper and Gabe cuddle on the couch during the movie a week later.
I forgot what it felt like to be single.
Our family all left after Odette left with Gwen.
It's weird. There's one less car in the driveway, her side of the bed remains empty and her scent faded away. Her dresser is empty, her side of the closet is empty, her toiletries are gone from the bathroom and I couldn't possibly miss her more.
Mason comes downstairs in a black button down and a pair of sweats.
"Where are you going in that?" Annalise asks, her eyebrows raised in amusement.
"I have a phone interview with a psychology office in Chicago."
He walks into the dining room after grabbing his iPad from the coffee table.
I huff, folding my arms over my chest like a child.
"I feel single." I whine. "I miss Odette. It's been a week since I've seen her."
"Actually it's been a week and to days." Harper says.
She's drawing patterns on Gabe's chest.
I sigh slowly, missing the feeling of Odeletta's hands in mine, her lips against mine, her body against mine. I miss her soft skin and her smile and her voice.
I miss coming home from work and seeing Beast in the driveway, or Lucia.
I miss her a lot.
Annalise has a phone interview later tonight, Gabe has one tomorrow morning, I have one tomorrow afternoon, and Harper has one tomorrow night.
Now it's the morning, around nine. I have sleep sleeping horribly so I just got up and everyone was awake when I came downstairs.
Odette already found a job with the help of Gwen and she works 9-5.
I want her to badly right now, just to touch her.
It's around eight in the morning in Chicago and I know she's awake by now, probably getting ready for work.
I'd give anything to hear her voice right now.
It's already March 1st.
"What if she doesn't miss me?" I wonder aloud. "I bet she doesn't. Maybe she's enjoying remembering what it's like to be single."
My god, she probably is!
"She's going to leave me!" I exclaim.
"Oh shut up." Anna laughs. "You know you're so stupid sometimes."
"Bitch." I grumble.
And then my phone starts ringing.
Mon Amour.
I let out a victory screech and yank it off the coffee table. I press answer.
"Amour!" I exclaim, sprinting out of the living room and upstairs.
"Hey beau." She says.
"How are you?" I ask.
"I am okay." She says. "I miss you."
"I miss you too." I frown. "I was worried you were enjoying what it feels like to be single."
"Nope, I hate it." She says. "I can not talk long, I will be late to work." She says. "I just wanted to hear your voice. I love you, beau."
"I love you too, mon amour." I say softly.
"I have to go." She says.
"Okay. Bye." I say sadly.
